I've never known a man more emotional than my husband. He cries all the time, poor thing :crying::luv:

(And no, I am NOT the reason he cries...)

Do you think that his culture and/or his family is more tolerant of men crying?

The male Latin culture is typically machismo, but the men (several, at least) in Luis' family are just very sensitive guys. It's one of my favorite qualities about my husband...although I tease him about it :innocent:

Both men and women are emotional, but in different ways. As far how much and what emotions men and women show, it depends on cultural norms. Men may show emotion that they are angry, but not necessarily when they are sad.

thats true

I have similar beliefs to Dean-o. Men & women, IMO, are just as emotional as the other, but many men hide it well because it's just not macho, or some such thing. Me, I want a macho man sometimes, sure...but I've never thought less of a man because he "let it all hang out" (get your mind out of the gutter, you know what I mean!) either. You don't want a sniveling wreck all the time, any more than our husbands/boyfriends do, but there's nothing wrong with showing some feeling either. Poor men often get caught in the middle I think...they're either "too emotional" or "too macho" sometimes!

I would said, if I had to choose, that woman definitely *are* the more emotional of the species though...and men are *definitely* the more stubborn!!!! ;) M.

I keep wanting to tell you, Dean...I loveeeeeeeeeeeeeee your siggy...I smile every time I see that donkey!!!!

I hope no one would really want to be emotionless. IMHO emotions are very important in this life. Without them are you truly able to love? Grieve? Feel anger? Feel happy? My thoughts on this... being emotionless somehow dehumanises a person. I do think that one should be able to control their emotions and not let them cause an unbalance in life.

On the subject of emotions...is there any one emotion that should be controlled more than another?
