withdraw i-129f

Hello,

 

before anyone answers this post I would like to ask that you to be charitable in your response. Just because you may not understand my choices, does not give sufficient reason to respond in a rude / patronizing way.

 

I sent in the i-129f application in July and my case is still being marked as "received."

 

I have decided that I cannot be with my boyfriend for various reasons, mostly for things he has done in our relationship that are red flags. I do not trust him very much anymore, and would not want to raise children with someone who I do not trust, despite the fact that I do love/care about him.

 

We are in a stable place in our relationship, and I don't think he has any big suspicions of me wanting to break up. He has some mental health issues, and I am scared by ways he has reacted in previous situations to disappointments, that if I were to break up with him he might put his life in danger or do something he would regret.

 

Therefore I think the whole thing would be much easier if I could just tell him that we cannot be together because the visa was denied. I do not want to take the risk in waiting, just in case the visa is approved, therefore I would like to write to USCIS and withdraw my application.

 

My question is, if I withdraw the application, is there any way my boyfriend could find out? I mean, say he went to the embassy, could they tell him that I withdrew the case, that it was not denied?

 

I know that honest is the best policy. It is hard for me to be dishonest, but I am scared of how my boyfriend will react, and if you knew our story you would probably understand my reasoning, and why it is best for both of us this way.

 

So in short, the question is: Is there any way my boyfriend can find out that I withdrew the i-129f application if i do so and then tell him that it was simply denied?

No the embassy will not know anything about the I-129F before it gets transferred to them. If he doesn’t have the case number he can’t look it up either. They will only send you a letter as the petitioner of the I-129F.

If he has the receipt number, he can check it online. Otherwise, the only way to get the info is from you.

 

That said, nothing good comes from hiding the truth.
