NVC IVR won't connect to agent

Hi guys,

So something weird has been happening for the last 2 weeks. Every time my wife calls (up to today) we've been unable to connect to the waiting queue for an NVC customer care representative. We've been calling because the I130 was approved 7/31 and we haven't heard anything. USCIS said on 9/23 our case was 'in transit' but we can't confirm with NVC if it was received.

Is something wrong with their phones?

Keep hanging up until you hear customer service reps are available from 7am to 12pm eastern standard if you do not hear this message you won't be able to talk to anyone and system will end the call

Good luck wait time can be anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 and half hour

Well for the last week NVC has been down and I am sure they aren't talking too many calls. All you can do is keep calling. man it took 2 months for USCIS to send your petition that's terrible. Well sent on 9/23 expect receipt was about 9/30 or so. So 6 weeks from that date you will have a case#.

But do keep calling to verify it's received.

Follow the case creation so you can see what date they are working on. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/after-petition-approved/begin-nat-visa-center.html

Current case file creation time:

Current case creation time frame: As of 15-OCT-2019, we are working on cases that were received from USCIS on 18-SEP-2019.

Once USCIS approves your I-797, they will send your case to the National Visa Center (NVC) for processing. At NVC, we will create your visa case and enter the data from your petition into the system.

After creating your case, we will send you instructions for processing, as well as a Welcome Letter that includes your Case Number and Invoice ID. You will use these numbers to log into our Consular Electronic Application Center (https://ceac.state.gov).

IMPORTANT: Keep your Welcome Letter in a safe place, as you will need this information to log into CEAC throughout the entire visa process.

Take this time to review the types of required civil documents and how to find them, plus information about what forms and information your petitioner needs to prove he or she can financially support you.

I have been using it but before I did not have a send date as I assume it was sent on 7/31 so at least know I know.

We've decided to try doing a weekly call to see if we can get the case number over the phone seeing as just sitting and waiting didn't with too well the first time. Happy for you though!
