Unless you are a priest, bishop, pastor, etc......then stop preaching because you do not have the qualification or authority to do so. Leave the preaching to Jesus and stop thinking you are Him.

This statement is totally contrary to the word of God. Do you beleive that the bible speaks truth? Every Christian has the qualification and the authority to share the gospel, and if Jesus is not presently here in the physcial on earth how can he do the preaching. Christians are his mouth peace. Thank God your opinon is just that YOUR opinion, but not based on any substance

Oh please......people doing the preaching are not qualified.

It's like taking one class in brain surgury and then trying to teach others about it as if you were an expert.

You might have stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night but you are no priest and have no dominion to preach.

The message of the gospel is not that hard where u need to learn to preach it. IT IS SIMPLEly that " We.. many kind is sinful, we sin all the time..that is why we dont have what it takes to please a holy God..this is why God sent his son Jesus Christ to die on the Cross for our sins, that if we believe in him, we can have eternal life"

I didnt say evey beleive can preach on the pulpit, but every beleive should and must be able to at least give these basic facts of the Christian faith, That is preaching

There is a difference between talking about the basic facts and judging other people using scripture and verse in the name of the Lord. When people get irritated and rightfully so, it isn't because someone shared some basic facts. If those basic facts (for Chrisitans mind you) is used to attack others then that is not right and not in the spirit of what we are taught in church.

Many people are literate so they understand the words.......the problem is they don't know the meaning.

And yes, even know the meaning...just don't believe in that meaning. I've also studied Taoism, Confucianism, and Hinduism in my non-Western religous studies course at the Christian university I attended....doesn't mean I believe those either.

Another day, another VJ flame war. Now that I'm caught up. there are a few things that struck me in the past 6 pages or so. Prepare to be amazed (or bored).

When I use the term "guided evolution", I mean that there was an outside force "helping" it along. If you take the complexity of the human eyeball for example, the odds of it evolving into it\u2019s current form, over the short period of time man has even existed on this planet, it would be like taking all the pieces of a Rolex watch, throwing them up in the air, and when they landed on the ground, they would be in the form of a perfectly functional watch!

A co-worker of mine has a better analogy. If you take apart a 747 and put parts together randomly, will you get a 747 back? Highly unlikely. But will you get something useful? Probably. Now, if you take that useful thing, and add new parts to it, you might get something even more useful. That's how evolution works. That's how you can get something complex like an eyeball after millions of years of tinkering with the parts.

(Even in the original language it was sent it)

This, in my opinion, is simultaneously the strength and weakness of Islam, the Koran itself. For a native Arabic speaker, it's the Bible except written by Shakespeare. It's intelligent, lyrical, and beautiful to read or listen to. But translations of the Koran are not considered the "true" Koran, because they've been interpreted by a human being. Only the original Arabic Koran is acceptable. So in order for everyone who doesn't speak Arabic as a native to truly embrace Islam, they're forced to learn Arabic. This kind of limits who will truly accept the "perfect religion".

And for the love of Bob,

Bob Dobbs? Got slack?

So simply having someone recite passages from the bible is supposed to make you a believer? And if it doesn't make you a believer it is your own fault?

If you set an example and strive to live your life the right way, you will be sought and won't have to pursue. They will come to you. If you are out actively trying to recruit, then you are spreading your own word, not the word of the Gospel. Only someone qualified can spread that word. You are merely sharing your experience and that is not your obligation under Christian doctrine.

"Nothing..but that very witness of the Christian will bear witness against that man , women or child who has heard the message of the Gospel and did not respond"

Nor are they required to do so and that does not make them wrong and it does not give you the right to think they are wrong or going to hell. To assume such is arrogance and says you know God's will when none of us do.

That's what's always bothered me about fundamentalist Christians. You can live a good life, one that in all other ways would be called "Christian", but if you don't accept Jesus as your Lord and personal savior, you're going to hell. They believe that a person like Mother Teresa who wasn't Christian is going to hell, despite the enormous good works performed. I cannot believe that. God will reward us based on our actions, not on technicalities.

Right, because conservative Christians believe that your actions on Earth are irrelevant when it comes to deciding whether you go to heaven or hell, only your belief will get you in. Am I correct on this?
