I love it! A Christian and a Muslim arguing for the same God, yet so dynamically opposed to each other’s religion. If we only had someone of the Jewish faith involved in this discussion, the circle would be complete. All believing in the same God and the same founding patriarch, Abraham, father of Isaac and Ishmael. Yet all three of these religions cannot accept each other. Another one of God's little "jokes" perhaps? How many lives have been lost in religious wars? If religion is so good, why does it cause so many problems? Why is one religion better than another? I guess the silliest religious wars to me are between the Christians and the Catholics in Ireland. They not only believe in the same God, but they also believe in Christ, yet they would rather see the other religion wiped off the face of the planet.

Not really - the differences in Ireland are primarily political rather than strictly religious.

I don't believe the God of the Quran and the God of christianity are the same God. But i'm not going to start getting into that

but ... but ... but ... who is right then?? i'm so lost!!! what happens when 2 people of differing religions have enormous faith???

my other fav is when someone converts to a different religion when they find the love of their life!! especially when christian/catholics/baptists(etc.) covert to muslim. you've just proved there is NO god ... how could you so easily give up one god which you believed in and had faith in for another god??

sorry but i chose not to insult myself by believing in imaginary beings in the atmosphere. besides faith (which is blind) ... if someone can provide me with one iota of verifiable proof that god exists, i'll convert!

You say it all perfectly :) I completely agree

Do you deny these things? If so, isn't that like denying your nose is located on your face?

I deny that you can take a verse here and a verse there and try to understand what is being said.

*slaps chuckles* c'mon now man!!! you're suppose to remember that you are NOT to take these books literally (when it's convenient) ... it's all about interpretation (when it suits your argument)!!!

sheesh!!

The Quran was delivered to him, by the angel Gabriel, straight from God and has been preserved and remained fully intact since that time. (Even in the original language it was sent it) :star:

so he says.....also that gabriel followed him around for something like 23 years. as if gabriel had nothing better to do in all that time.

Islam and Christianity are not "Sister Faiths". A side by side examination of the texts of the Bible and the Quran will quickly identify some of the differences related to Islam's teachings about Christ and the truths of my own Bible about the Son of God.

1. Islam instructs its followers to kill their enemies, but christianity instructs its followers to love their enemies.

-The Quran say to "fight and slay the Pagans wherever you find them" (Surah 9:5) But my holy Bible tells Christ's followers to; "Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you" (Matt. 5:44 KJV)

2. Islam denies Christianities core truth-the death and resurrection of Jesus.

That they said (in boast), "We killed Chirst Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah"; but they did not kill him, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (Certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they did not kill him. Surah 4:157

Islam says that Jesus did not die on teh cross. The Bible says that Christ died on the cross and rose from the dead.

3. Islam also denies the deity of Jesus Christ

The Jews call 'Uzair a son of Allah, and the Christians call Christ the Son of Allah...Allah's curse be on them:how they are deluded away from the Truth! Surah 9:30

Not only does the Quran deny Christ's deity-but also, as we see in the verse from the Quran above, it also puts a curse on all who confess Jesus Christ as the Son of God. Islam brings Jesus Christ lower than Muhammad, making him no more than a messenger.

Christ the son of Mary was no more than a Messenger; many were the Messengers that passed away before him. His mother was a woman of truth. They had bot to eat their (Daily) food. See how Allah makes His Signs clear to them; yet see in what ways they are deluded away from the truth! Surah 5:75

Since there are such marked differences in these areas between Islam and Christianity. Christians are commanded to "try the spirits" to see if they are from God.

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, wheterh they ar of God; because many false prophets are gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God; Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is God, and every spirit that does not confess this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard has coming and is now already in the world 1 John 4:1-3

Allah is not the same as the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. According to the Bible, God is knowable. Jesus Christ came into the world that we might know God (John 17:3) God's word tells me that man can come into a personal relationship with God the Father. He said, "Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know" (Jer 33:3) God wants to love you....today.... just as you are! "For God so loved the world that He gave ..." (John 3:16) "God is love and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him" (1John 4:16)

But in Islam, Allah is unknowable. He is so exalted that no man can ever personally know Allah. The Allah of the Quran is so distant, so far off, so abstract, that no on can know him. And Muslim believers can never know the love of Allah until judgment Day when they find out if Allah loves them and will invite them into paradise. In his book, Jesus and Muhammad, Mark Gabriel, a former devout Muslim says;"If you ask a Muslim, Do you know how much Allah love you?' he will respond, 'I don't know how much he loves me. Only Allah knows." He gives an example from his life ... When I was living as a Muslim in Egypt, I was always puzzled by a littls saying that Christians ust to put on their cars or frame in their shops. The phrase was Allah Mahabe, or God is love. Thos two words are never put together in the Quran. I always thought, I wonder what those people are trying to say.

The god of Islam is totally different from the God I serve ni the Bible. The Quran tells us that the god of Islam works with Satan and demons to lead people astray in order to populate the hell he created. (surah 6:39,126;32:13;43:36-37)

For Jesus, God is a loving Father, for Muhammad, Allah is a demanding master. This description sets the tone regarding love for all their other rlationships... Allah finds new believers who will serve him better. In contrast, God the Father searches for the one lost lamb until He finds it and brings it home rejoicing. This is the difference between Allah and God ....

Watch me get stoned for all of this ...

Nothing better than obeying God

sheesh vj...

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

ummmmmmmmmmmmmm ... yeah ok. is this the same god that damns people to eternal hell?? there is abortion, infanticide, murders, slavery, rape, child abuse, and ritual sacrafice in the bible!!

1 Samuel 15:11-18 God repents of having made Saul king since Saul refused to carry out God’s commandments (i.e., Saul refused to murder all the innocent women and children.) At least god realizes what an immoral, murderous pig he is on this one.

I Kings 16:34 Laying the foundation for a city using your firstborn child and using your youngest son to set up the gates.

Isaiah 13:15-18 If God can find you, he will “thrust you through,” smash your children “to pieces” before your eyes, and rape your wife.

Jeremiah 11:22-23 God will kill the young men in war and starve their children to death.

Jeremiah 19:7-9 God will make parents eat their own children, and friends eat each other.

Lamentations 2:20-22 God gets angry and mercilessly torments and kills everyone, young and old. He even causes women to eat their children.

Out of curiosity, did you do that side-by-side yourself? Studying both source documents in full to come to the quoted results? If not, who did it for you? You see, sometimes, for the sake of getting a clear picture, it is worthwhile to consider the source of such "analysis". ;)
