if you believe it is a credible source or not, it is my credible source and that is what I use to back up my argument ... thats all i'm saying why I do it

Ok, but my point is that if you're making an argument, that means you are trying to convince someone of something you believe, right? How could you possibly expect to convince them using support that they have already rejected as false?

I can see using the bible to back up an argument if you are debating with another Christian, otherwise I just can't wrap my head around it. Would a Scientologist quoting excerpts from "Dianetics" help to convince you of their arguments?

They just may, who knows. Anyone in a debate is going to use some source that they find credible to back up what they are trying to convey. If the other party finds it reliable or not. Newspapers state they use reliable sources daily, does that mean I have to believe their reliable? No ..... Many history books have quote on quote "reliable" sources ... Do have to believe those sources are all reliable? No I don't ... I'm just saying as a christian, I believe it is a reliable source and that is what I use to back up what I say! Even if you think its just mumbo jumbo and that I'm babbeling nonsense ... But it's all good

Even though I don't agree with you, you have a very eloquent way of expressing your views and beliefs.

My beliefs are simple. I believe in a higher power, a "god" if you will. As much as I believe in science, there are still some things in this world that science can't explain. There arises the need for something to fill in the gaps, or missing pieces.

I choose to believe the world we live in came about through what I like to call "guided evolution". There is something, someone, or beings out there more powerful and more knowing than us. To think otherwise, in my opinion, is narrow-minded and egotistical.

one thing that bug me.. is that people like to use the word "believer" and non-believer".. i'm sorry to bring this up..

accourding to me.. i'm a believer... but not a god or christain believer... so when somehow i've become a non-believer... please indicat.. believ in what? coz ofcourse i dont believe in God but i'm a believer in m religion..

I'd rather said you are a believer of God and i'm a believer of other religion (in this case buddhism)

The war is between God and Satan and we all got caught in the middle. We all , unbelievers and believers, are precious in Gods site.

I'm not going to get into this bible debate you all have going here. I don't believe you can find the truth in the bible because so much has been added to it and deleted from it by men.

I just want to comment on this. I'm not trying to offend you but I think this statement is offensive to God. How can you say God and satan are at war? If God wanted to He could simply say "die" and satan would cease to exist. The war is between us and satan. We are the ones who battle him on a day to day basis, fighting the temptation he throws at us, with God's help and will. God allows that to test the faithful but He's by no means "at war" with satan. When this is over God will deal with satan and it will be no big deal for Him to do so. Rember, satan is a creation of God the same as we are. Would it be possible for you to wage war against God? Of course not because you're powerless against Him as is satan.

Ok you all can go back to arguing over the writings of men now

I can't speak for others, but as I've used the terms believer and non-believer in this thread, I meant "a believer in the Christian religion", as that's what we were mainly discussing. I do apologize for any confusion.

I agree with you 100% ... maybe i worded it wrong. God has already won the WAR. Yes yes he has. But you see Satan doesn't yet want to believe that. Which is why we are in a battle. We are to arm ourselves as if we are in a battle. Why? Because we are in a battle. Though we've won, we still have to fight. You see what i'm saying? It's a battle for souls really. Has God conquered over Satan? Yes and your right he is a creation of God. I guess we are fighting against that force in essence everyday, so we still need Gods help. We've won the WAR but we still are fighting a battle.

It depends on who the one making the statement "non-believer" is. If that person is a christian than anyone who isn't christian is a non-believer to them. If they're muslim than anyone who doesn't follow Islam is a non-believer.

yes i know.. but when you disregard others as a non-believer... it's still kinda disrespect of there other believ isnt it.. that's how i feel anyway.. coz i'd never call anybody a non-believer coz for me, they believ in something.. if i call them a non-believer, i'd indicate that they are a non-believer of my religion.

well.. it's nothing big.. just it bugs me everytime.. eventhough i know it's about believ in god and not.
