Hello,

I recently married my husband in Canada. I am British and he is American, and I plan to settle in the USA via the CR1 visa and eventually a green card.

I have just applied for a new passport in the UK with my new name change on it. Do I have to wait to receive my new passport back (up to 3 weeks) before we submit our I-130, as my current one has my maiden name on it?

Also, I have read that you have to provide photocopies of everything- will a literal photocopy that I can produce via a printer at home suffice, or is there specific guidelines on the quality of the photocopy?

Thanks in advance!

It has to be legible.
