Here is the timeframe we have currently

We are "at NVC" as of today, so I expect we will ship out on 10/30?

She is set to have her medical Nov 6 and 7th, and we scheduled an interview on us travel docs for Nov 14th.

We have all documents except an NVC letter, do we need this for the medical? Also if it ships from NVC on 10/30 are we ok for the interview on 11/14.. feels tight to me, but can anyone advise?

Thanks!

Your case file is at NVC still and you scheduled your interview?    You shouldn't be scheduling your interview until after your case file is at the embassy, CEAC status should show READY.

You can email to request your case file # or wait for the letter from NVC to arrive in the mail.

Yes you need the NVC letter/email for the medical at St. Luke's   https://www.visaconnection-philippines.com/medical---slec.html

Here is a link to the the Philippines forum for your questions relating to the process in Manila:  https://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/129-philippines/

I will ask a mod to move your topic to the Philippines forum.

I called and got our MNL# and started the rest of the process, as long as it is "case ready" before the interview we should be ok?

Also when does the NVC email the letter? After going "in tranist"? Can I request a copy before that? Thanks

Others have said it's ok to have a screenshot of the CEAC website saying "in transit" instead of a letter

Email of the letter occurs the day the file ships

YMMV

Also when does the NVC email the letter? After going "in tranist"? Can I request a copy before that? Thanks   You can email NVC any time to request the case file #

Others have said it's ok to have a screenshot of the CEAC website saying "in transit" instead of a letter    Some did get SLEC to accept that, but things change.

Yes that was obvious that you called .. only you need the email/letter as things process slightly different in the Philippines.

The letter/email will be sent once the case file ships.

I gave you a link to contact NVC by email, 3rd tab under the I-129F section .. email them using the format and info as noted.   Once you get the email/letter .. email a copy to your fiancee.

Using the CEAC status use to be accepted a times by SLEC, but they changed the document requirements around the start of this year making the NVC email/letter required.

I am only making suggestions, how you proceed through the visa application process for the Philippines is your decision.

Thanks, I am a little worried, do you know what kind of trouble those couples had at the embassy? I had read that I could do all of the steps once we had the case number, but things must have changed.

I am hoping to have the letter before her medical to email to her. If not, we may reschedule.

A printed copy of Interview confirmation notice is also accepted by SLEC

Two that I had contact with ended up with the embassy cancelling their interviews and telling them to reschedule, one they delayed a couple weeks.

For the medical the NVC email/letter is listed as required, copies of the interview confirmation page is optional  "if available".    Must have the NVC letter/email

  1. K VISA APPLICANTS
  2. EACH APPLICANT MUST PRESENT THE FOLLOWING:

    1. Valid passport
    2. 1 photocopy of Passport Biographic/Data Page, the page in the passport that contains the applicant's photo and information. Photocopy on short bond paper. Passport photocopy should be the same size as the original, not enlarged or reduced.
    3. 4 pieces recent 2"x2" visa photos (see visa photo guide), 3 for submission to the U.S. Embassy, 1 for clinic file. ALL PHOTOS MUST BE IDENTICAL. Write the applicant's complete name at the back of each photo.

The US Embassy requires you to bring the 2x2 photos for your visa issuance. We regret not to release the medical report until such time that you can provide this requirement.
    4. Letter with Case Number

      • Principal Applicant - original & 1 photocopy
      • Derivatives - 1 photocopy each

If Letter of Case Number was received via email, print 2 copies for the principal applicant and 1 copies for each derivative.

    5. Visa Interview Appointment Confirmation from the U.S. Embassy , if available

      • Principal Applicant - original & 2 photocopies
      • Derivatives - 1 photocopy each
If Visa Interview Appointment Confirmation was received via email, print 2 copies for the principal applicant and 1 copies for each derivative.

Thanks again.. once we are case ready I'll call the embassy and ask before we waste time flying her there

Another concern is that my interview appointment letter did not have a ds-160 barcode (I entered the # in on the website).. is that normal or a consequence of early appointment?

Interview confirmation won't have the DS-160 barcode on it.

The beginning of this year the embassy started getting picky about early scheduling of the interview, they made it known to not schedule the interview until the case file is at the embassy (CEAC status shows READY).   You may be just fine ... time will tell .

Last year it wasn't an issue scheduling the interview as soon as you got your MNL#    ...   St. Luke's didn't required the NVC letter/email to complete the medical last year either.    They changed the rules

Fingers crossed, I'll Update on how it goes..

I'm hoping that I can confirm with the embassy before the appointment day so she doesn't go there and get turned away in person..

We should be all set for the medical..

We also scheduled her CFO to coincide with her medical, and they wont allow us to reschedule until 24 hours after original appointment, further complicating things.. hoping all is well next month
