Hi everyone,

I filed for AOS last week, and all my checks cleared yesterday, all but one, the $170 for the advance parole. I immediately transferred more money on my account, and now there is enough for the check to clear if it gets a second presentation.

What does the USCIS do in such a case? Do they present the check a second time? Do they just drop your application?

I made an appointment with Infopass on Monday just in case, but I am worried to death in the meantime...

Thanks in advance for your help!

Somebody else had a posted a situation about a "bounced check" but i cannot remember under which topic. I think she called USCIS and she paid a fee over the phone- (it was a recent post, im sure u do some searching, you will come across it). I do recall that there was not a huge problem and everything was fine.

on the instructions it states :

Checks are accepted subject to collection. An uncollectedcheck will render the application and any document issued invalid. A charge of $30.00 will be imposed if a check inpayment of a fee is not honored by the bank on which it is drawn.

my guess would be that they will return the application to you. if that happens you will need to refile with the AOS NOA enclosed.

Oh PHEW it does not look as bad as I thought then... Hopefully I will get the notice to pay rapidly and it won't slow down my application. I asked the same question on another thread for more details from someone it had happened to, just needed to know fast before I had a heart attack from worrying!

THANKS A LOT!! :)
