Our case was sent to the US Embassy in Ghana almost two months now. No appointment dates available online! No packet 3!!! No updates. Calling the embassy is no help apart from them saying "wait till you hear from us". Gosh!! It's so frustrating and depressing! What are our options? Do we have to involve the Senator? Send a bunch of emails?

Based on your timeline you are still within normal current processing times. K1's can take 9 - 12 months to complete (especially for difficult embassies like Ghana). Based on that, an estimate is between now and the beginning of next year. So your efforts to get them moving faster is futile.

Sorry you are frustrated be we always, always, advice every going through this process to practice patience.

Send an email over and over

A  Senator can do nothing to help / they will get a response same as your last one saying "the packet is in queue waiting for interview date to open"

this is a hurry up and wait game from start to finish and you are not finished till after the person becomes a citizen and reports to the SS office to change SS # from LPR to citizen

none of these are easy

ours was a long 6 years from 1st appliction to visa issued

but this is just the start for you as you still have a lot of documents and proofs to go thru for the AOS process

so,  keep a copy of everything you have sent or will send in the future to immigration

you still have to marry and do the AOS here in the US and more

We've been waiting 4 months already with nothing. All you can do is be patient and follow instructions on your consulate website for contacting them for an interview.
