Hello Folks,

Just got this email from USCIS in response to my "Outside Normal Processing Times" inquiry:

"We have received your service request and researched the status of your case. We have had to perform additional review and this has caused a delay in processing time. Your case is currently in line for processing and adjudication. Cases are processed in the order in which they were received."

I believe this is a pretty standard answer that have been already mentioned in this forum. Hopping that a decision is made soon.

Best of luck!

That’s what we got and 4 days later we were approved ☺️
wishing you the best of luck! 🍀

Submit an "outside normal processing times" inquiry online! (or your spouse - whoever is the petitioner 😊)
Link: https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/Intro.do
Your case qualifies as the date for case inquiry in Texas is October 31st (see pic below). If you're PD is before October 31st (which yours is), you can submit the inquiry (it's just a few fields of an online form to fill out). Where it asks for the reason you think you qualify, you tell them that your case is past the normal processing time according to the USCIS processing times website. They will respond after a few days with a - what I believe more standardized answer. Our case (and other's cases) were approved within a week after getting this email.

I just lived chatted with a representative today and they confirmed that our case is in Texas. Unfortunately, they also informed us that the reason why the system won’t accept our inquiry is because the dates are supposedly “off” on the receipt date for case inquiry by - get this - 15 months. The rep said “The office is currently processing cases received July 21, 2018. Your case is still within the normal processing time.” And that this is not a typo… “Due to the volume of applications this has pushed the processing times back”

has anyone else heard this? I know there are people on here that have been successful with an inquiry for dates outside of processing time. Our application has apparently been in Texas since the end of February so I know we aren’t in the 30 day “wait time” that some have mentioned.

This is weird - July 21st 2018 is the current inquiry date for Vermont 🤔

Your case must somehow still be linked to Vermont. Have you tried asking for your case status out of the inbox of your USCIS online account? This should be answered by a Tier 2 officer within like 2 days.

One of us was the exact same as yours and the other one had a different last sentence saying to expect a decision or notice from them within 60 days. We were approved after 4 days! 🙏🏻

Watch out for date changes. The day we got the response we had a change and another one 3 days later. The lawfully app then notified me a day later that my case’s status was updated and the USCIS status text stated that it was sent to the NVC. Online account still said “processing” but case closed and the documents tab contained the NOA2 🎉

I started wondering if it refers to how they receive them AFTER background checks are done - so when an agent receives the case for decision. Because lets assume someone has a 1 year background check and someone a one months long bg check, there is no way that the one with the 1yr bg check could be processed faster.
