“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

I wish I could get a Canadain Tshirt from Walmart. They have nothing down here with Canada on it.....lol. Wonder why

I do see they are having something in Cummings Georgia thou. I just dont know where that is. I will have to ask Roger when he gets home to see how far away it is.

Thanks for the link, Kathryn.

ha ha. I just checked out Cummings, GA too. Too far of a drive for me. Pompano Beach is 3.5 hours away, which is the only event in FL. Wait a minute. July 11th?!!! A WEDNESDAY? What's up with that? Guess I won't be going to an event, either! LOL

Good idea I use to get those Canada pins and the Provincial flag pins when we would make our FastPitch tournament trips to the US. Those things were in big demand I never realized so many people collected those

I used to work for my MP in his constituency office and the Canada flag pins and small hand held Canadian flags were big items! Each MP has an allotment he is allowed to distribute - we always exceeded our allotment (VBG)- and he can always purchase more at the Member's discounted price through Government Services. Definitely obtain a supply of those before you leave. If someone wanted more than the allotment we allowed per individual (10 per individual or 25 a family), we offered them the opportunity to purchase as many as they wanted at the same discounted rate. One of our Ottawa staff would go over in person to purchase the pins, mail them to our constituency office and the constituent would then pick them up from us. We did ask for payment up front, however, and used that money to make the purchase for them. Your MP may do the same sort of arrangement if he/she restricts the number of freebies you can have. You may also be able to get a full sized Canada flag - we would give those out on occasion as well although we had considerably fewer of those available and generally required a reason other than 'I just want one':-). There are also all sorts of little booklets available from Foreign Affairs for Canadians travelling/moving away from Canada - you may want to ask for anything his/her office has available.

Whoo hoo, party only blocks away from our apartment!

I will be back in Saskatoon!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1
