I am a virgin i didn't know we were so rare? (and yes, we are waiting until we get married)

Yay, I'm not the only virgin to post here.

"Today no one is a virgin when they get married ... show me someone who's a virgin!" she said.

Just because MOST people have sex before marriage doesn't mean that all of them do. That's the only thing I didn't like about her statement.

She and others like herself who make comments like this are knuckleheads in my opinion.

Look, you can argue for women's rights to abortion all you want. But how in the world can you expect the Catholic Church to take a pro-choice stance? It's ridiculous, and so is the notion that any Christian church should be okay with abortion. Their role is not supposed to be "what's good for society", it's supposed to be "do what God would want", and surely anyone who believes in the Bible cannot possibly think that God is okay with abortions.

Be pro-choice if you want. But if you don't like the Catholics because they aren't pro-choice, choose a different religion. If you believe in God but think abortions are okay, make up a new religion. The same goes for Birth Control. I personally haven't read the bible enough to know how or why birth control would be wrong. In fact I consider myself to be Christian and even so I got a vascectomy. I wouldn't go criticizing the Catholic Church for condemning it though. They just do, so I cannot be Catholic- well maybe now that I had it reversed I can- but I'm not interested in becoming Catholic anyway. What is so hard about this?

What kind of stupid thread this is, with Supermodel and Virgin in the title but yet no actual Pictures of the aforementioned supermodel and perhaps non-virgin. Perhaps I should rectify the situation!

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

I don't think she is wrong, abortion included. If you are against abortion, just don't have one.

I don't think she's wrong either. She is all right :P

Totally agree. First this issue arose in Brazil during / after the Pope visit when a Congress man tried to approve a Law making abortion legal in Brazil. Her comment was directed to the Brazilians at that time, and who is a Brazilian here knows exactly that she is totally right when she asked "Who is a virgin ?" ...at least in Brazil. I think less than 2% os population. I have seen girls 12 to 13 years old holding condoms at school during the break saying loud and clear ... " I gave, I gave" what means tha she had sex in the bathroom or any other place. There is a lot of promiscuous... It doesn't mean that I agree with that...but I'm not blind either. Due to this "free" behavior, thousand of abortions are performed illegaly every year, because women want to have their sexual life freely but are not willing to face the consequences of that... I know a co-worker 21 years old, who had an abortion because she didn't feel ready for that...and her boyfriend was a married man....Totally crazy..I do not agree with abortion and will never !! And yes I worry about God as a Christian...I', not Catholic and have studied enough the bible to know that there is any mention to support the birth control issues. Catholic church bases their argument in the order that God gave to Noah's family in the book of Genesis 1:28, 29, and at that time after the great flood there were only 8 people in the whole Earth. However this command was not repeated by Christ or any of his disciples or apostles, once the Earth was already "full". Scriptures, likewise, do not condemn birth control. Catholic sources explain that it was in the 2nd century CE tht professed Christians first adopted a STOIC rule according to which the sole lawful purpose for marital intercourse was procreation. The reasoning behind this position was thus philosophical rather than Biblical. This philosophy persisted down through the centuries and was elaborated on by various Catholic theologians. It was only in the 13th century that Gregory IX enacted what the New Catholic Encyclopedia calls "the first universal legislation by pope against contraception". The logical outgrowth of this teaching was the idea that sexual pleasures as an end in itself is sinful and consequently, that sexual relations that exclude the possibility of procreation are immoral. But this is not what the Scriptures teach.

Using poetic language, the Bible book of Proverbs describes the joy that can result from appropriate sexual intimacies between husband and wife (Proverbs 5:15,18,19). Sexual relations between husband and wife is a God-given gift, but procreations is not their sole purpose. Sexual relations also allow a couple to express tenderness and ffection for each other. So if a couple should decide to exclude the possibility of a pregnancy by using some form of contraception, that is their choice to make, and no one should judge them. (Romans 14:4,10-13).
