I know after the wedding we will get her ss card and start the AOS process. What are question is Leslie has to have a second round of vaccines like the measles-mumps-rubella and the varicella. She had the first round in Manila and has to have the second round within 4-8 weeks Do we go to the civil surgeon before we start the AOS , during, or after?

Thanks VJers for the help this has been a great site and has help us when we started the K-1 visa.

Get the vaccines before you submit your AOS application; you can get this done at a doctor of your choice; but make sure you then take your vaccination record to a civil surgeon and have him fill out form I-693A. Good luck!

There is a great guide here for AOS: :guides:

SEE:

http://www.visajourney.com/faq/k1k2visa-aos.html

Also about medical for AOS:

Fiancé(e)s.

If you are a K-1 fiancé(e) or K-2 dependent who had a medical examination within the past year as required for the nonimmigrant fiancé(e) visa, you only need to submit a vaccination supplement, not the entire medical report. You may include the vaccination supplement with your adjustment of status application.

I-485 http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-485.pdf

I took form I-485 to the doctor and pointed this out so that he would stop insisting on a full medical and just do the supplement.

You should take vaccination record to a Civil Surgeon in the USA and have vaccinations transfered to a supplement. Any vaccinations needed will be needed to be done before visiting the doctor.

Need:

  • Mumps, Measles, Rubella (MMR)
  • Tetanus and diptheria toxoids
  • Varicella

She is not getting her ss card after the weeding, she is getting it after either the whole process is approved or her EAD.

A person in the USA on a K-1 can get SSN anytime between entry and about 75 days after entering the country, after that can get SSN either with EAD or Green-Card.
