N400 Question - Red light ticket

Hi Everyone,

I can apply for citizenship on Monday and I have a question.

I got a red light ticket last month (came in the mail, signed by an officer) which I paid straight away. I know the application asks about crimes, citations etc, so I'm wondering how any of you guys who went through this process highlighted this?

I understand this shouldn't cause any problems for me, but I want to make sure I flag it the right way.

Thank you.

P.S j was having a hard time with the search function so many apologies if this has been answered recently. Although I am curious for people who've done this under the current administration in any case

Just check the box regarding citation “yes”, and take a copy of the citation with you to the interview.  In my wife’s case, she had a traffic ticket that we actually forgot about at the time of the application, but she corrected it at the interview and had no issues.

You should be fine as long as you disclose it.

Good Luck!

Actually, you may not have to report it. I assume this is a red light camera ticket, yeah? In VA, the ticket goes to the owner of the car. If the car's not yours, you really don't have to own the ticket.

I got a ticket for speed limit.. few months before my interview.. I paid it right away.. in the letter it  said if you pay it soon .. I won’t have to go to the court.. any who I went to my interview and I didn’t say nothing about it.. I really forgot about it.. they accepted my application  and I’m just waiting for my oath ceremony.. so no worries.. as long as you didn’t have to  go  to the court to solve it
