Depends what you mean by politics, regular stuff should not be an issue.

I am Palestinian who applied for a K-1 with my, then, American fiancee, now wife.

 

My post was Jerusalem, and I had absolutely no problems at all and no delays in my process. My interview was easy and smooth, and my visa was in hand not 8 days after the interview. And the first step of submitting the I-129F was smooth as well,  it was approved in less than 90 days. I was at POE after 5 months of us starting the whole K-1 process.

I married a Palestinian who was born and raised in Lebanon, Christian to be specific. we had no issues. although no politics were involved. was he part of a political group? it all depends on the group he was in.

Biometric NOA:  12/14/18  Biometric Appt: 12/26/18

Case is Ready to Be Scheduled for An Interview: 1/16/19

EAD/AP approval: 3/18/19

AOS Interview Appt: 6/4/19

AOS Interview: 7/10/19

AOS Approved: 7/23/19

GREEN CARD IN HAND: 7/26/19

I don't see a problem being you're dealing with the US embassy in Israel, not any Israeli officials. I don't think being part of the revolution will cause any issues, as long as he was never arrested or cause any harm. they really look into his background, just don't lie about it on the form nor the interview. being honest is what they want. and they already know by doing background check, so make sure he doesn't lie.
