Depends which airport is your POE. I entered a few days ago on Cincinnati and it took aprox 15 minutes and everybody was very nice

since your wife enters on a K1 visaa it might take longer than 15 minutes because the immigration officer has to look thru the "brown envelope" before letting her go her way. Mine took about 30 minutes because I had to wait for him going thru the documents. I entered thru Atlanta. The immigration officer was very nice and friendly. Good luck!

for LAX POE, it took us more than 1 hours. It was 1 hours and 30 minutes at LAX.

Depends on the airport and the amout of traffic through immigration and customs when the flight arrives. Plan for 2 hours or so. Though you might get through in 15 minutes.

Customs typically does not take much time at all... It is immigration that might take a little longer...

I know, but just want to make sure that his fiancee knows and try give it to the right officer at the immigration because as I read from some treads

the fiance(e) was not sure and still have the envelope when they got home. Just a reminder

It took us about 45 minutes to an hour in Seattle. The custom officers pretty much waited for everybody else to go through before they dealt with us immigrants. Actually, as I remember when we got to the front of the line and talked to the officer, he told us to go have a seat in a long row of seats and wait for our name to be called, that was after he took the brown envelope from us. But, yeah, plan on an hour or so.

CBP comprises two groups:

Immigration Officer and the Custom Officer

Immigration Officer's job: to inspect your document to make sure you have the correct Visa, stamp your passport and I-94 etc.

Custom Officer's job: to inspect your luggages, make sure you don't bring in any decomposed fishes and meat, vegetable and seeds, or drugs, including but not limited to prescription med.

Basically, it depends what you bring in the country with you and how big of the immigration line is that day when your wife and you enter the US. Don't book your connection flight too close to your initial entry.

Good luck and just focus on getting her here safely! Don't lose the Passport with her Visa inside, don't pack her brown envelope along with her checked-in luggage and you should be fine!
