USCIS posted a new I-864 Form that must be used starting on 10/15/2019. However, I looked at the new and current forms (side by side) and can't find any differences.

Does anyone know what changed, besides the edition number?

The only change I saw on the instructions is a new note after the list of exceptions:

"NOTE: If you qualify for one of the exemptions listed above, submit Form I-864W, Intending Immigrant’s Affidavit of Support Exemption, instead of Form I-864."

"The US immigration process requires a great deal of knowledge, planning, time, patience, and a significant amount of money.  It is quite a journey!"

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Shouldnt the version number at the bottom change as well? How do we know its the new form if the edition date is still the same as the previous.

There was a court rule on 10/11/2019 that prevented USCIS from implementing the new form:

ALERT: On Oct. 11, 2019, judges in three separate cases before U.S. District Courts for the Southern District of New York, Northern District of California, and Eastern District of Washington enjoined DHS from implementing and enforcing the final rule related to the public charge ground of inadmissibility under section 212(a)(4) of the Immigration and Nationality Act and postponed the effective date of the final rule until there is final resolution in the cases. Two of the injunctions are nationwide and prevent USCIS from implementing the rule anywhere in the United States. Until final decisions in these cases are issued or the injunction is lifted, USCIS will accept the version of this form on this landing page.

Hi can anyone help me please. I am pretty new to this process. I am filling out the I864 this week. When they said the deadline Feb 24 is the last day of accepting old form, does it mean I have to submit

the DS-260, I-864(old), and all civil documents by Feb 24.

or

the DS-260 and I-864(old) only by Feb 24.

or

the I864 (old) + tax document only by Feb

Hello everyone. I have printed off the I-864 form and filled it out. I do not notice the bar code that is said to be added to the new form. Is it mandatory to have this bar code? And after it is accepted what happens? Will they contact us?

The I-864 does not have a bar code. Yes, NVC will contact you once they have accepted the forms.
