EAD and medical exam questions

So 10/8 we received the text messages from USCIS stating my husbands AOS application had been accepted, now we are just waiting to receive the official notices in the mail.

Regarding the EAD - my husband has not worked since he left Canada (which has been 6 months now) and he's getting very antsy to return to work as he's never been this long without a job and working. He's basically a tech guy, very experienced fixing phones, tablets, etc and has mostly held sales jobs with cellular companies in Canada so it's likely he will do the same thing here when he is legally allowed to work. Our question is, when can he start looking for work? With the type of job he can get IDK if the company or manager will be able/willing for his EAD to be expedited. Should we just wait until his EAD is approved and in hand?

For the medical exam - we did not include this form in the application so I know we will receive an RFE for it. Once we receive it, we will get his medical exam taken care of. However, trying to stay ahead of the game, I looked up the civil surgeons in our area to try and see where they were located etc. A physician I use to work with in the emergency department is on the list. It's been over a year since we worked together (I am a RN). Is it a bad idea to go to her since we know each other? From my viewpoint we are very comfortable with her and my husband is more trusting of people I know directly and can recommend, but my worry is how USCIS will view it. Will they see it sort of like a conflict of interest?

EAD is taking 6 mos.  You can look for work anytime,  just can't work until employment authorized

You won't get an RFE for the medical,  as the medical can be presented at the interview.

How will they know about any conflict of interest?

YMMV

Your employer has nothing to do with expediting your EAD. If you have a signed job offer stating your salary, you can request an expedite by yourself.

Right, that's what I meant! I realized now I missed a word and meant to say "i don't know if an employer will wait for him get his EAD expedited".

I'm just being cautious! it is the government after all and if they find out/realize he went to a doctor I use to work with and they don't like it I could see them trying to say we were trying to be sneaky with his medical exam or trying to have someone falsify the info because we knew the doctor. there is nothing to hide medically for him so I'm likely overthinking but I would rather be safe sorry.
