I’m wondering if the fiancé was mentioned on the DS-160 for the B-2. It asks if you have relatives (and the notes/instructions include fiancé in the definition of relative) in the USA.

No I didn’t , it’s unfortunate ignorance was my case, I was told not to tell I was meeting my fiancée and mention my friend . Since I joined VJ, I have become more aware of how it works. The VO asked the date for my divorce but I got confused because there is a different date for the judgment and different dates for Absolute decree and Nisi , if she gave me time to process it would have been a different case. I have a genuine relationship with my petitioner and this has nothing to do with Immigration benefits , i love my fiancée. This has made us stronger ! Thank you all for your opinion, I wish everyone the best of luck

Am sorry for the disappointment. The best you can do now is to get marry in Nigeria and file again. Getting K1 in Nigeria is tough expecially with divorce hustory or when you someone have past history on attempt to travel out, VO normally look at it as someone looki g for every mean to get in. During my interview anyone with attempt to travel to US before applying for K1 were denied.  Just stay calm and channel your energy to spousal Visa, which I think is the best, if I know better I would have option for spousal visa,it has alot of advantages over Fiance K1 visa. It might be a blessing in disguise.

How can you be visiting your son if you have full custody? Visiting your son where? He’s 6 years old. Who was he with?

It’s my belief that you asked your almost-ex-wife to apply for a B-2 with you because you heard/read somewhere less reputable than VJ that married couples have higher chances of approval than people applying alone, especially when the lone person is applying in order to meet a love interest. So you enlisted her help to present yourselves as a married couple going on a family vacation but in reality only you were going to travel. I’ve seen this many times before in my line of work. They even sometimes buy two plane tickets, one for each spouse, in order to make the story look more believable but one of them no-shows for the flight.

This finally makes sense. I couldn’t figure out his story. No wonder he was denied.

Thank Yeap, we have become family here this is very emotional for me , meanwhile my fiancée and I are taking our time to focus on us rather than the immigration drama, she would be moving here soon. God bless you

When I read this, I tried to play the devils advocate and this was my first impression as well....

CHAIN MIGRATION....

Petitioner gets divorcing husband in with son.    with the B1/B2 visa ex wife can come spend time with ex husband, 3 years later divorce petitioner and remarry ex wife.  Family reunites.

Again I am guess what CO is thinking with their vast professional experience.  My first impression was this as well.  But I am not judging, just based on reading the story....
