where to send supporting documents if I-485 is currently at TSC

My hubby wanted to to mail in his AP application, but was unsure of where to send it. Misinfopass appointment said to send it to the Chicago Lockbox, Misinformation line said to send it to Baltimore (DO). They were both wrong. Surprise, surprise.

We knew it was TSC, but we were unsure of the correct P.O. Box. So after some researching, e-filing seemed like the right choice. Never in a million years would I have guessed what P.O. to use.

Anyway, just wanted to share this information. I don't think anyone else's I-485 is at TSC right, but things could change or something.

The transfer notice he received had the following address for TSC:

Texas Service Center

P.O. Box 851488 - Dept A

Mesquite, TX 75185 - 1488

E-file receipt had the following address for TSC:

USCIS Texas Service Center

Attn: E-filed 1-131

P.O. Box 852685

Mesquite, TX 75185 - 2685

Oh, and YES, we know he should have applied for AP when he applied for AOS. But back in February, it seemed as though applications were flying though and since we're risk takers, we decided to take the huge gamble of waiting a few months before making uncle sam richer.

AP is processed by a different department and separately than AOS, so should be sent to the Chicago address and they will forward it on to the appropriate department.

Right.

"if you are filing for advance parole, and are filing Form I-485 for family-based adjustment of status"

You still send it to Chicago, because you have filed I-485 already, and are in that process.

No, the misinformation line was wrong (as usual), the infopass was right. Send it to the Chicago lockbox.

The e-file receipt was wrong too?? What the #######?? Now I'm totally confused. We already sent it to the address from the e-file receipt. The instructions for I-131 also says:

Where to File.

B. If you are in the United States and filing for an advanceparole document:

2.If you filed at a USCIS service center to adjust your status as a permanent resident, mail this application to that service center. The service center address is noted on the USCIS or former INS receipt related to the filing of your adjustment application. You can also obtain the service center address byvisiting the USCIS website at www.uscis.gov orcalling our National Customer Service Center at1-800-375-5283.

I kind of wasn't asking where to send it, since it was already sent 2 days ago. Oh well. It'll get to the right place eventually.

The point is that if you send to Chicago Lockbox, they will always forward it to the correct place. I have no experience with e-filing though, so I don't know what the procedure there is.

Where did you mail your AOS? You mailed it to Chicago I assume, so that is where you also mail the AP application also. Chicago transfered to TSC, you did not send AOS there, Chicago did, and perhaps TSC will then transfer it to CSC or perhaps your local office for an interview.

Send the I-131 to Chicago as per the instructions on the USCIS website I-131 page.

I'm sure it will get passed along to the correct place. I did file an EAD application a month after my AOS application (which had by then been transfered to MSC), but I sent it the Chicago lock box address (according to the instructions).

Send the I-131 to Chicago as per the instructions on the USCIS website I-131 page.

Ok, I think we're all talking about 2 seperate things. Firstly, the I-131 file had already been filed by the time I posted this topic. I wasn't asking where to send the actual I-131 form, I was talking about the SUPPORTING documents for I-131, not the actual AP application. The I-131 application was filed electronically, and electronically sent to TSC by USCIS, not by husband. The receipt from the I-131 said to send the supporting documents to the above address. So I wasn't really asking where to send the I-131, I was really venting about how frustrating finding this information was in hopes of saving others in the same situation some time.

Ok, I hope this clears things up a little bit.

The receipt from the I-131 said to send the supporting documents to the above address.

So why did you not just follow that instruction, instead of making an infopass, phoning the misinformation hotline and finally, posting here?

Ok, now I'm getting frustrated. Everyone, please take a few seconds and stop jumping into conclusions!!

1- The missinfopass and call to missinformation line was about something else (USCIS had wrong A#). We just happened to ask about AP as a bonus.

2- The I-131 had already been e-filed BEFORE I created this topic.

3- I was NOT asking for advice on where to send the supporting documents for the I-131. Like #2, they had already been sent before this topic was started.

and finally,

4- Supporting documents for e-filed APs are NOT sent to the Chicago lockbox. They're sent to the address in the E-file receipt, which I believe is probably unique for everyone, depending on their situation. We did send the supporting documents to right place, we have already received the NOA1 from TSC.

Now let's get back to the reason why I created this topic: Help e-filers whose AOS applications are currently pending at TSC.

We're here to help each other out, so please, let's try not to confuse one another....that's what USCIS is for
