Hi guys!

So my situation is kinda strange. Long story short in 2007 I came to USA (Chicago) on J1 visa for Work and Travel program. From what I remember I did apply for SSN but never received it (it got sent to the address where I didn't stay anymore). Anyway I've never go back to the SSN office and never even start working, due to family emergency back home. I had to go back to my country after not even a month. I didn't care about SSN at that point (was young and stupid)😑

Fast forwarding to 2017 I was applying for tourist visa (B2) and remember I had to answer the question" if you were ever issued a SSN" (wasn't sure what to put in there). I called the embassy, no info. I even called the SSN office in Chicago and they said that since I've never used it and never physically had it on my hands then it's invalid or canceled or something like that. So in my visa application I stated that I've never had a SSN. Got approved for the visa with no issues.

Now I'm in the process for AOS and we are lucky to have our interview in couple of weeks. In I-765 application I also stated that I don't have SSN and applied for one in the form.  We got our interview date before EAD and AP arrived. Status on those are still " Case was received..."

While preparing for the interview I'm starting to think if this won't cause any issue.

What you guys think?

Why would an issue or non issue with SSN cause an immigration issue?

Much ado about nothing.

YMMV

I don't know, maybe I'm reaching, but what if this SSN from 2007 magically still exists and they will say I lied on application or something 😐😭

Guess can't do anything about that now lol

You'll give yourself an ulcer worrying about non stuff like this.

YMMV

For the love of Jesus, you did not lie. And the correct immigration term is “willful misrepresentation of a material fact”. It was not willful, it wasn’t even a misrepresentation and this is so not a material fact.

Hi, can you share your timeline at the San Diego office? Also, wanted to tell you that you’re overthinking it and you shouldn’t be worried about something like that.

Hi, thanks for kind words!

04.30 sent packet to Chicago Lockbox

05.02 priority date

05.29 biometrics

09.06 I-485 status changed from "case was received" to "ready to schedule an interview"

09.18 status changed to "Interview was scheduled"

No update for I-765, I-131 and I-130 (we are adjusting from B2 tourist visa)

Our interview is this month on 24th. That was very quick we didn't expect that! Also I don't know if this is relevant but all of the notices arrived from National Benefit Center.

What is your timeline?

My NOA is June 26, sent the package june 19-20, biometrics July 17. My case hasn’t updated past “fingerprints review completed”. Congratulations for your interview.

Thank you!

I keep my fingers crossed for the fast process then! Don't really pay attention to status updates, I didn't even have any update after biometrics and then went straight to "ready to schedule interview".

Good luck! 😊
