Renewed passport, when to update?

Hi,
I recently had to renew my passport, we are now waiting for our documents to get to NVC.
Do we need to update them about my new passport number? or do we just include it in the forms they ask us to fill out?

Common sense.   If they wanted you to update this information during the approval process they would have information about it and instructions or a form on how to do it.  The only thing that is in this category is potentially your address

When you complete forms during the process at NVC (DS-260) you enter your new passport number.

You can not update the I-130 that process with USCIS is already completed ...   plus there is no way to update the I-130 with this info anyway
