The OP can pursue a trade school or other technical skill set at an accredited school in Jamaica. Instead of having to wait 4 years (or longer) to get a Bachelors, they could study and gain employment in a trade such as welding, coding or other technical skill that can be studied in a year or two. My point is most university degrees from overseas don't have the accreditation to transfer to a US employer, but I can see a trade or skill transferring, as well as work experience. Instead of being negative on the OP, let's try to be constructive on how they can overcome this public charge denial. I can't imagine going through this process only to be hit with a denial in the final stages... And with the new rules coming out we will see similar cases more frequently.

Thank you so much for the encouraging words

Totally agree ☝️

At 32, is there any reason why you’ve never had a job or gone uni?

Life sometimes throws challenges your way. wages arent that high here. Money has always been tight it cost alot to get into University or even get subjects after high school.

They are new rules that went in effect in January 2018. The law has always been enforced maybe not to your liking but it has been enforced.

No, they have not.  They are starting to.  I am still wondering why you’re so upset about it LOL

I am more upset with people like you either making it up or telling untruths to push a narrative than about the changes themselves. Like i said these changes were made in January 2018 at the embassies and consulates.

Even without rules and policies, realistically, how would she be able to support herself and her kids?  Having some assets, having to work, or have friends and family able to support you, is just a very basic fact of life...

She would find a way like countless others that have come to this country with no skills and education and yet managed to become successful. I feel these changes just expand the amount of people you can deny entry or AOS while doing nothing to prevent the ones that succeed from becoming public charges. Simple solutions for simple minds.

Affidavits of self-sufficiency and health insurance is no narrative.

The rules are changing.  Get over it.

The countless others comprising 2/3 of households with children on public benefits?

What narrative are you pushing?

“They will find a way” is pretty much the epitome of reason to find somebody being likely to become a public charge. They need evidence of being able to sustain themselves, not a desire to do so.
