Will I get notify from NVC? IR5 case. Help!

Hello all,

I got NOA2 yesterday (mail) and it stated that they forward the case to NVC. I read some of the post here that NVC will not let me know about the case number or invoice ID without me calling them every single week?

Here is the quote from NVC site:

"You have come to this page because you received a letter or email from NVC directing you here after NVC received your approved petition from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS)."

So I am confused...will they or will not they let me know when they received the case, assign case number and invoice id? I really do not want to spent time to call them if they will eventually give me the case#...but if that is needed, then I guess I will do it :(

Any helps will be greatful!

If they for sure will let me know the number then I will let them work on it until November 2...if I have not heard anything about it then I will start to make phone calls. Regardless, I need to know for sure they will send me the notice :)

It took us several weeks for the NVC to contact us with the case number. We got the notice that it was being sent to the NVC at the beginning of August. I think we received the email with the case number on September 30th. It will come! It's definitely a hurry up and wait process. We started to fill out the Affidavit of Support after paying the fee and realized that the form was going to expire on October 14 so we decided to wait till tomorrow to print out forms and such. We've already uploaded all the documents they need.....I hope :)

Thank you for your answer! :D

I will definitely look for my case ID. So, the email from NVC, does it comes to your beneficiary or petitioner email? or even both?

So is the USCIS Case Number that starts with LIN will be the same number that NVC will give or it us a different number? I am confused. We got letter from USCIS stating that the case forwarded to NVC for visa processing. So how long nvc will send us notice? Also who will receive the notice - Applicant or Petitioner?

When you fill out your email address on I-130. After USCIS approved the I-130, NVC will send the welcome letter and instructions to that email. If not, they will send it to paper mail to your address.

This helps a lot. Thank you!

I think I put my email address on my form, but if not then I have to keep on eye with mail :)
