My wife received Form I-797C, Notice of Action with code 3 and then it says:

Quote

To process your application, petition, or request, the U. S. citizenship & Immigration

Services  (USCIS) must capture your biometrics.

And then it gives the directions on where and time to appear.

My question is, does this mean My wife has been accepted? After this what it follows? How long does it take to get her residence?

thanks

This means that your wife needs to get her fingerprint taken and a photo, like all other applicants.

It does not mean her AOS was approved, however the i-485 paperwork was accepted as complete---approval would happen at a later date after the interview.

Her application has been accepted for processing,  several more months or a year before she is a resident

YMMV

thanks guys.

should I go with her?

If you want to, not necessary though. My husband went with me because our office is a few hours away from where we live so he had to drive me. He sat down and waited for a bit. Took less than 10 minutes and we were out.
