ok so i will start a thread generally speaking in ot to see what other people in similar situations do. Who knows maybe some can learn some helpful tips on how to deal with this stuff. I definitely think it's a big pink elephant that no one normally wants to discuss...not anyone in specific but you gotta admit about 50% of the people on this board have children from a prior marriage/relationship.

Just do not single out people or post things in a way as to 'elude' to a 'certain person', etc.. Educated discussion is great. Discussion with the intent to poke fun or harass others is not.

doodle, what did u mean about cairo being fast? Can u please explain

Kristy

I just have noticed that they are more speedy than normal. For example, in the past...quite recently in fact, it would take approx 2 to 3 months to get an interview scheduled after the pkt 3 was submitted. Someone on here just got theirs scheduled within 2 weeks of submitting it. Could be that the embassy showed mercy since the person lives in Sudan but I tend to doubt that since there have been other cases where mercy would have been a good thing and nada. lol.

Also, and not to get people's hopes up, Deemabrouk's hubby had his interview a week and a half ago I believe and his security checks are already completed with DOS. Granted..................Cairo could still sit on this for a good month or two resulting in the checks having to be repeated, as has happened with a few, but they have also hired some new people there so hopefully things will not take too long.

Bottom line, in the past from start to finish the process for Egyptian immigrants has averaged over a year and now it seems that it could be a lot less than that. I'm hopeful for the first time ever that my husband just might make it here before Christmas. lol.
