For anyone who has gone to the interview, what all did you bring for evidence? My husband and I only have a joint bank account. We have no lease and no bills together.

We didn’t have our interview yet, but we started gathering evidence, which includes both of our names on: phone bill, car insurance, both of our houses, garbage and recycling, bank account, credit cards, insurance and I’m also my husband’s beneficiary on his life insurance. We also asked two friends to write as an affidavit and it was signed in front of a notary.

Thank you so much! That’s a good idea since I have nothing besides the joint bank account.

You are welcome. You can still attach conversations between you two for example when you are at work and he texts you. While they may not even look at anything you bring in with you it's still a good idea to be safe and get ready just in case.

I'm anxious but excited at the same time.. I lost my phone 2 years ago and my spouse deployed for a year last year, I lost all our wedding pictures etc. I have enough pictures to make a nice album but I'm just anxious that might not be enough

We have a bank account, credit cards, health insurance, phone bills, tax return 2017, 2018, 2019 together.

I'm thinking of adding my spouse into my life insurance but might be too late since my interview is within a month.

What else should i prepare for the interview?

I think you have plenty of evidences without life insurance. If he is deployed I am sure you communicate via social media. Take a few conversations between you two. As of pictures. We had 14 pictures total and 4 of them were from our wedding party. As I mentioned something tragic happened in our family and we were not in the mood for tacking pictures lately so we used what he had and that was plenty. You will be fine. Sometimes when you bring way too much may make them suspicious. Good luck to you.

I also think you are eligible for 10 years green card instead of 2 years the conditional one.

Hey guys, quick update. Got a letter in the mail for my Adjustment of Status interview for March 5th. Haven't had any mailed updates for my EAD, but I will check and also do a timeline when I have time.

Same with me. My interview is scheduled next month but no updates on EAD/AP. However, it's ok as long as I get the GC. Good luck on your interview!

I just spoke with USCIS. They didn’t tell me much besides what I can already see online. She told me that the processing times online are accurate and NBC (my processing center) is currently working on June/July cases. But I saw many October NBC filers get their EAD approved. So I’m confused. Any insight on that?

Sounds like they just told you the same stuff you can see online.  It is a total mystery to me how EAD/AP cases are processed... it's all the same NBC so how October filers get approved while June/July filers are not is just beyond comprehension.  Sometimes I wonder if they just pick a batch of recent filers for processing/approvals so that the average processing time looks better.

Yes, indeed. I had two EAD's before (OPT) and they came within 90 days. I mentioned the strange processing times to the rep (a very nice lady) and she said that EADs have different categories, so based on the category October filer could get EAD before a June filer. But I think she was still referring to e.g. OPT EAD vs. AOS EAD.

Small update on our case! 🙌🏻
My EAD and Advance Parole got approved which are going to be mailed to me according to the status. Hope they will arrive soon. I’m super excited~! No update on my GC, still shows that they have received my response to the RFE.

I think the scrutinity of the case and complication of the interview very much depends on the nationality. While waiting to be invited in, I saw and talked to few Mexicans and Philipinas who got separated from their husbands during their interviews and who were told to wait outside, and they were very nervous and said the IO did not treat them very well. Don't know what result they got though, mine went fast and we were done before them.

After getting the EAD and AP combo card last Saturday,we went back to the DMV yesterday to renew the driver's license(good until the EAD expires) and then to the Social Security Office to change to the new last name.(The clerk said come back after we get the green card to remove "Valid for work only".It took us a mere 4 hours total. Both places were packed,as usual.....
