Form I864

please help me answer these question on the form

considered I did not work last year

part 6

question 20 do I put 0 for last year or put my income for this year? I’m currently working

question 23a  I filed taxes in 2016 and 2017 but not in 2018

Q20.

Depends.

If you're using your current income (the income that you made in 2018, since 2019 tax year is not up until April 15 unless you get a tax extension) then you put your estimated annual income and support it with at least 6 months worth of paystubs and an employment verification letter.

If using your taxes you just put the total gross income line from your 1040EZ from last year.

Q23a.

You're gonna have to get one of these:

https://www.irs.gov/individuals/tax-return-transcript-types-and-ways-to-order-them (Verification of non filing letter) and get a joint sponsor. Not filing your taxes is looked down upon as it shows a lack of financial responsibility, so unless you want more trouble, just get a joint sponsor and ease your life :)

No it won't. A change of address is just that, a change of address. I see that you are quite impatient to get things moving with your case but the best thing one can do here is just wait it out as much as it's a pain to do so.

The spouse does not file the I-864a no. Because in this case we are assuming that the spouse has had no way to work, hence no income to be used jointly with the sponsor (being you in this case)

The one who would fill out an I-864A would be the household member of say, for example, a joint sponsor that you were to use.

So take our case for example, we used my husband's parents income to help solve our RFIE. His dad (joint sponsor) filled out a SEPARATE I-864 and his wife (household member) fills out an I-864A since my husband does NOT live with them. An I-864A while not necessary, many adjudicators like to see and may even ask for a RFE for one since they like to know that the other party is informed, awared and consenting of having not only their partner's financial support but to also demonstrate their support towards the immigrant. Mind you, this household member is NOT a 2nd joint sponsor. (this was for our case specifically, I don't know how it works if a joint's sponsor partner lives separately and other scenarios)

This whole I-864 thing is a nightmare, I know, I had to gather up everything in a matter of days as I wanted to respond to our RFIE in a timely yet well composed way, as I always tell everyone Sir Google really is your best friend and if you find it all too confusing, don't be afraid to make a separate post in the forum  explaining your situation and your specific questions as there are many lovely people here who are willing to help (they've helped me with all my questioning haha)

Thank you🤗. Our case is kind of the same . I the petitioner did not work last year so we are using my cousin as the joint sponsor. I’m talking about my cousin wife.  My cousin made $173k and she made $21k. On the I864 we are only using my cousin income which are the $173 . But then I’m not sure if my cousin wife needs to fill out the form i864a because they file jointly and she lived with him.

This is to solve an RFIE that we received so I’m talking about last year .  Yes ,We are  using a joint sponsor in our case. So if I understood I need to put 0 in the box because my last year income is 0? Right

for the question it a yes or no queation

did you file tax in the last 3 years?

i filed tax in 2016

i filed tax in 2017

i did not file in 2018( I have a letter of non filing)

now what should my answer be? Since I do not meet the 3 years that they are asking about? Should Check NO ?

She would file an I-864A, I believe but I don't know how it would work for extended family and the like, I can help but don't count on my answers as the only legitimate answers, I don't want any denied or RFIE's to fall on my head
