Who here got their biometrics done in November and still have no EAD/AP card yet? 🙋🏻‍♀️ Lol. Mine still shows “fingerprint was received”. I see some people from December have already received theirs. Well *fingers crossed*.

I had my biometrics done on October 28 th and I’m still waiting. I’m hoping my EAD/AP will be approved sometime in the next few weeks

I had my fingerprints done 29/10 and haven’t heard anything about my EAD card; still says fingerprints were taken! But my interview has been scheduled as of yesterday so not sure I’ll even see my EAD before the GC depend when my interview is I guess!

I'm sure that it depends a lot by the local office each case is assigned to, but it's seems like our cases (fall 2019) started moving really quickly.

You know this is exactly what I've been telling myself for the past 2 weeks or so. It feels like people from the fall are moving relatively quickly in comparison to other months. For example, a lot of people from September now have their EADs alongside folk from all the way back from even June, kinda f'd up really. 

Most of us filed for a K-1 back in 2019 I'd assume and this is awfully reminiscent of how drastic the change in approval times of the I-129F petition was in comparison to 2018, I remember people waiting 6 months for their approval and us being scared that it would take forever to get things moving but then in 2019 the approval time was averaging around 3 months, which is a crazy difference. 

Now I was watching approval times of the I-129F just for curiosity the other day and the approval time seemed to have spiked up again back to 4 ish months to 5. Really makes one consider how lucky one is.

Please keep the rest of us updated on how the EAD Card & Greencard arrival goes. It helps with timelines/expectations while we wait.

 

Personally, I'm curious:

(1) if your social securtiy # really does arrive by mail 10-14 days later? (2) Will both cards actually arrive or is the approval for both just a formality? (3) Please spill the beans on how your interview went!

 

I'm sure there is more important stuff to ask (obviously you don't have to respond). If you don't mind helping us anxious ones, that would awesome!

Hey so here’s how my interview went: 

 

It was super easy! My interview was at 11:30, I got there at about 11. I went through security and then up the elevators to the floor/room that was written on my interview letter. I dropped my interview letter in a box and they called my name to have my picture taken and fingerprints taken about 15 mins later. I didn’t get called for my interview until 2:00 because I guess they were really backed up. We were sworn in and raised our right hand before we sat down. The interviewer asked to see my birth certificate, passport for me and my petitioner, And our marriage certificate. She asked how we met and I said “online” and then started to explain our history but she cut me off Saying “great” basically after I said online. She went through all the questions on the i485 confirming my birth date, address, and all those questions about not being a harm to the government or a terrorist. After that she stamped me approved and handed me an approval letter. It was about 15 minutes maximum. She wasn’t supposed to be doing interviews that day so she kind of just seemed annoyed at how chaotic her job was that day, but she was still friendly with me. I got very lucky and got an officer who didn’t want to know anything about our relationship or see any of the pictures or other things I had brought. I definitely think my experience was rare though. My interview was in Los Angles. 

Also I told her I felt grateful that I got an interview so quickly and she said “most/a lot (can’t remember what word she used) are getting interviews very fast now.

Biometrics done November 29, no EAD, but interview has been scheduled. Hope we all get it soon!

Absolutely. I’ve met couples that filed almost two years ago and they are still waiting for their interview (in New York). I think we’re on a sort of lucky strike despite the face that they’re sending rfie pretty generously.
