hello,

you mentioned in a previous post that you had an RFE for the affidavit while your income was well above what was needed. I was wondering what you ended up responding to the RFIE ? The documents you ended up sending.. If you don’t mind sharing this info

Hello.I sent the 2018 transcript,3 months of bank statements,6 months copies of monthly retirement checks, credit union statements, deed to my house, last year's income tax with 1099's.

Hey Khufu61, the reason for the RFE/RFIE was probably the asset (house deed). Don't remember where on this forum (been reading VJ a long time), but someone said if you list assets it's more tedious to prove & generally ill-advized. The tax transcript, 1099s and bank documents would've been sufficient in and of themselves, but because the requirements are different for assets it got complicated mixing both. Hope that makes sense & helps someone.. Still sucks that it happened. Sorry about that!

I originally sent the tax transcript only.I received a RFE generic letter so I didn't know what was wrong with the original submission.I decided to send more proof in my response to the RFE,didn't want to take any chances.Oh well, that's life.Thanks....

Hello everyone! Just venting: I want an update this week!

Did my biometrics on 12/9, stuck in "Fingerprints have been applied to your case". Next step is either a RFE or interview ready to be scheduled... Given that my PD is 10/17, what's the latest I could get a RFE?

Also if it helps I have an F1 visa and I am applying to AOS through marriage to a USC.

Really happy to see others moving forward... But I want my share, too!

You can file for a tax extension which allows you to file your taxes until October, that I know for a fact.

What I don't know though is how would one do it if you are married filing jointly (which is what I assume most will do) so I'd assume that either the extension applies for the both of you or he just files his taxes separate. The whole financial aspect of this journey is a very confusing and untaught one so your best bet is Sir Google :)

Thank you so much for your help!! You're right, definitely confusing haha, it's a comfort to know I'm not the only one who thinks so! Ok, we shall apply for the extension and hopefully I can ask Sir Google if he has any insight! Good Luck and I hope your case moves safe, swift and smoothly!
