We asked him if I was legally allowed to work after getting conditional green card. He said it is totally up to my employer and to make sure I should wait for the EAD card and I should be getting the EAD card any day now since I applied at the same time for the both of them. That sort of confused me, so I'd appreciate if any of you guys can enlighten me about weather I can legally work or not.

In a situation where the green card is approved before the EAD/AP, the EAD/AP (combo card) will not be produced. Your green card will definitely allow you to work...the green card entitles you to EAD, AP and more. Congratulations on your speedy journey.

Hello, I was just wondering what we are required to do regarding taxes. My husband wants to get his taxes filed asap so he can keep on top of it, but we're stuck as I don't have a TAX ID or SSN yet and we don't know when I will (Orlando office seems a slow mover) So I just wondered what the process is for our situation? From what I understood there's nothing we can do but wait to get my numbers... but maybe I'm wrong? Just wanted to double check with this community as we're all in the same boat and have the same issues! Congrats to all who have had the interview and good luck to the rest  waiting! :)

You can file for a tax extension which allows you to file your taxes until October, that I know for a fact.

What I don't know though is how would one do it if you are married filing jointly (which is what I assume most will do) so I'd assume that either the extension applies for the both of you or he just files his taxes separate. The whole financial aspect of this journey is a very confusing and untaught one so your best bet is Sir Google :)

In other news we sent our RFIE response on the 7th so we just have to wait and see what happens now...

Hopefully the evidence we submitted is more than enough.

So we went last week for the biometrics appointment last week for form I-765.

We still have not heard from I-485 to schedule for our biometric appointment.

i have tried to call but no luck, can not get any one on the phone to talk too.

we sent all three forms together. Any advice.

Your fingerprints will be used for both.

Congrats, what is your local office? We filed 10/14 and still waiting.

Do you have a timeline? It can potentially help you figure out how far are you from getting an interview? Also, for your EAD and AP.

They sent my NOA’s and biometrics to an address they didn't even have on file. Not been inspired with confidence, my initial bio was 14th nov but never received the letter. Had to call up and schedule one myself in dec.

Your biometrics was really quick compared to myself and a lot of others. This is good and.. not so good. You're probably in an earlier "batch" of applicants (good), but since your field office is not ready yet you'll get to sit there for a while (not so good). The wait feels worse because you got to the next step fairly quickly and stopped. Don't get discouraged! You're further in line but still waiting in line, if that makes sense.
