Hello! So happy to know that there's also a month by month community of AOS filers just like there was for the K-1!, and so the wait and frustrations keep on going hahahaha.

Does anyone have some more concrete answers on whether or not a RFIE slows down or halts all advancements on the EAD

We got one on the 27 of December (wonderful New Years gift) and we'd be pretty bumped out if that's the case,  I don't see why as the EAD/AP are processed separately but either way this whole thing is a waiting game so what's starting from 0 again I suppose.

Spoiler

🐇 Sent I-129F: 03/14/2019

🐇 I-129F NOA1: 03/22/2019 (Received The 18th)

🐇 I-129F NOA2: 06/15/2019 (85 days)

🐇Case transferred to NVC & Case# assigned: 07/10/2019 (25 days)

🐇 NVC left: 07/23/2019

🐇 Consulate Received: 07/26/2019 (CEAC switched to ready on the 30th)

🐇 Interview date: 08/05/2019 (Approved :D:wub:!!!)

EAD and AP are put on hold until RFE is answered and approved.

No, not true. If the I-485 was the form that got the RFIE and not the EAD, it won’t be put on hold. I called USCIS and they confirmed.

At least from what I read here and from what I searched, it does affect EAD and AP. I saw multiple cases that as soon as the RFIE for the AOS was approved, the next day EAD was approved.

We K1 apply for EAD and AP based on a pending AOS. If the AOS has a RFIE, that means your AOS won't be touched until you fixe it, therefore your EAD and AP are put on hold until your main application is all set.

This article was available on the USCIS website in 2017, when they had to approve EAD up to 90 days. The article is not available anymore, but it doesn't change the fact that EAD processing is still put on hold if the main application has an RFE.

No Green card has been approved in 3 months around these times. I have seen 5.5 to 6 months the least.
