Congratulations! That’s awesome. My latest update was that they received my RFE. When did you get your EAD?

We received the letter with the RFIE and it was his BC. We sent one along with the application, so we will see what else we can come up with.

They wanted I-131A from us, which isn’t a part of the initial packet. But sometimes they lose things. Maybe his BC was good, but it was misplaced.

When you go for i765 biometrics on 1/2, take i485 biometrics letter as well. They may be able to take i485 biometrics early so it will save you another trip.

They did! Full biometric appointment took 1hr (55min waiting). Ask the initial officer (who hands out forms/clipboards) if you can just go ahead and do both. The admin were kind, quick and easygoing.

I haven’t received my EAD yet. I don’t think I’ll get my employment or travel authorization for a couple months still.

status changed on the 30th to interview ready to be scheduled. any idea how long the wait typically is between status change and when the interview is scheduled? Does that depend on which office is local?

Yes!!!! Now, you have to wait for the field office to schedule your interview.

We send out our response to the RFE on January 3 and they should receive it on January 6. Hope everything goes well! I’m a bit anxious about it but I guess I’ll need to sit down and wait now. 🙈

As mentioned earlier, it was about my BC too! I sent in a multilingual birth certificate which is an international birth certificate. It’s very common in Europe but they didn’t seem to like that and requested another one OR the misplaced it. No idea! 😕

I ended up sending in a certified translation of my Austrian birth certificate which was translated by a professional translation company. I wanted to be safe and let them do it for me because I read a couple threads about the USICS sending RFEs out regarding BCs and it seems to be happening again.

Thanks. We sent ours which is in 6 languages. Hopefully it’s not an issue.
