Effective May 15th 2018, K1 AOS applicants were removed from the list of those eligible to be waived the AOS interview

Ok, thanks for info. Our case is not K1, so I guess it’s possible. I’m asking because the longest it takes to get scheduled for the interview. Some local offices are super slow.

This part of the forum is only for K1. If you're adjusting from another Visa, I suggest trying to find information on the correct area of the forum.

It’s should all be the same, it’s i485. Timeline for biometrics, work permit, etc. will be the same. I’m only interested in the timeline comparison.

Actually it is the same, as long as everyone here got married to an american citizen it is the same, there is no such thing as k1 visa go first or whatever lol

Timelines are different for people who apply for a work permit, there are categories for it. There are many ways to adjust status for it not just through marriage.

That is true, however here at VJ there are two separate AOS forums, due to subtle, distinct differences in the types of forms and procedures used in the two groups. Those groups being:

AOS from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas Forum: https://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/7-adjustment-of-status-green-card-from-k1-and-k3-family-based-visas/

AOS from Work, Student, and Tourist (WST) Visas Forum: https://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/130-adjustment-of-status-from-work-student-amp-tourist-visas/

Additionally, each of those similar, but different forums have their own separate AOS Case Filing and Progress Forums. Mixing of the two groups can result in confusing discussions, due to the subtle differences associated with each group's processing.

Good luck on your immigration journey and Happy Holidays!! 🎄🎁

Is there a different tracking forum for IR1/CR1 Family based Visas?
