I’m done with biometrics on 11/29, but my status still shows that “We received your case.”

Sometimes their status on the website never ever changes. They approved our k1 visa, then sent it to NVC, then to Moscow, then I went to interview, got approved, then came to America, married my husband, and still there was, "We received your case" on their website. I wouldn't say the website is reliable.

Yes, I know. That’s why I couldn’t know  RFE and DENIAL for the initial application. I really scared of that again.

Ha! That's funny. That's the same thing that happened for my husband. He came on a K1 visa and he's been here since August and the status still says "We received your case". I just stop looking at that one and I'm focusing on the AOS/EAD/AP. Luckily they've been updating those cases so hopefully they continue to do so 🤞

I agree with you.  The law often doesn't keep up with the times and this is unfortunate because it needlessly hamstrings couples trying to make ends meet in an expensive country.  This should be looked at but don't hold your breath.

On an unrelated topic, another thing that vexes me is making the K-1 a single entry visa.  Spare me the fraud marriage argument for why this is done (if that is indeed an argument for it).

We are bringing human beings into this country, human beings with family, etc. in their home country.  Circumstances can arise over the course of a year that might require a return to their country.  That's why we have AP right?  Great, but it's taking most people at least four months (and in many cases significantly longer) to process this???  If you can't provide prompt turnaround in this regard then make K-1 a multi-entry visa in case something unthinkable happens and these people need to return home in a hurry to attend to personal affairs.

Okay, yes it is expensive to live in the USA. If there is a need to start working right after landing in the USA, then the spouse visa is the route to go. Honestly, the rules are set in place even before applying for the fiance visa. A lot of people look at the fiance visa as a faster way to come to the USA, but do not look into downsides of choosing the K1 visa.

Thanks for the input.  I still stand by my post.  This antebellum practice should be revisited.

Happy holidays.

I see that most applicants here are spouse of US Citizen , is there anybody who is parent of US Citizen ?
Looks like the spouse cases are handled faster than parents. My parent has a need for the advance parole to travel in about 30 days.

Is there any way to get the AP expedited ?

This part of the forum is for AOS from K1 applicants only, that's why everyone is spouse of USC. Try finding the part of the forum for other types of AOS.

I’ve been using the app for status update... was always updated in my K1 process and now...

I disagree! I think granting multiple entries on a fiancé visa would truly become a mess. People need to make up their minds on what they really need upon entering the USA and make decisions based on what visa to apply based on that. Though I would like to say that I have seen faster processing times for AOS from a K1 visa lately.

Hey guys,

I received an RFE for using form I864EZ. They asked me to use the I864 instead. I thought we could use EZ because we are just a 2 household and her income is based on W2.

Please, how do I calculate "current annual income" my wife has two jobs and two paychecks!
