Im thinking people also run into trouble when they are right at the threshold. USCIS is wanting people to be over the minimum. Remember it's up to each IO their discretion on what is sufficient.

I thought about that but looking at the guideline chart we really should be well enough past the requirement with no other dependents to make it clear

It's  really hard to tell what they are looking for, perhaps they did lose ur affidavid.

For one, you're not waiting an extraordinary amount of time yet; you filed less than two months ago. Anyone that has anything more than biometrics done already is at an extraordinarily fast field office.

Processing times for AOS do not go by state. They go by field office (though in some states all cases are handled by the same field office, California in has quite a few).

Fresno and Imperial are quite fast. San Diego (we filed in early April, Anastasia's interview was at the end of September) and San Bernardino aren't bad.

But some of the SF and LA area offices are among the slower offices in the country.

Totally agree. I see a lot of folks with why everyone else not me, and that it is not the attitude to have when handling immigration matters.

My wife just had her biometrics appointment late this morning (12/4/19).  As of 3:45 PM, my case was already updated - "we completed our review of your fingerprints and are working on your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status".  Talk about quick!

Case status as of nov 22nd ready for interview. I assume we should be getting letter in the mail any day now as it's been almost 2 weeks? How exciting!!

That's actually when the wait begins. You can only expect a letter when the status changes to Interview Scheduled.

It can be days, it can be months, or in some situations years. It all depends on your luck and local field office. As Ayrton said the letter will come when the status will change to interview was scheduled.

At least you know you don’t get an RFE. ☺️ Such a peace of mind.

Ahh that's good info thank you both. I was under the impression it was like the Biometrics where it comes shortly after the change.
