Are copies of the marriage certificate also required for the I-765 and I-131 sections or just one copy is enough for the entire application?

I put one for each application, because technically there are three different applications.

Good morning every one... has anyone has gotten Bio metric appointment recently?

I haven't received mine yet.  Soon, hopefully!

Not required but a good ideal to do. People  have gotten a RFE for not doing it. Better safe than sorry.

I fedexed my concurrent I-130/I-485 on 10/14 - reached Chicago lockbox on 10/16 and signed for T Harper

No checks encashed or receipts till date. I called the 800 number and they gave me the email id of the lockbox  and asked

me to email them to research. It is 3 weeks and 1 day since they received the application.

I attached separate checks for I-130, I-485 and biometrics. Could this be causing the delay in my receipts ?

You will hear something soon. USCIS asks us to give them a month. Also, November 11th is a holiday.

No need to send certified copies.

You make a copy of your marriage certificate with your printer  at home or the library and send that. there will no issues.

No need to complicate a case by doing a lot of research - that it is how people get screwed in an immigration process. Keep it simple and to the point.

I made a copy with the printer at home and sent that.

Welp...it’s too late. Lol. I already sent certified copies. I hope if you just sent regular copies it’s fine. I’ve see all kinds of RFEs so I’d rather be safe than sorry. Certified copies is cheap so to each their own 🤷‍♀️

I sent the evidence required for each immigration benefit and nothing that wasn't explicitly mentioned in USCIS's instructions. I don't believe you necessarily need to be married to receive work authorisation or advance parole, so I assume it's fine to have only sent a copy of the MC in with the I-485. This was my thinking, anyway, and it's what I did. I also sent a scanned copy of my MC because we only have one certified copy on hand at the moment. :( Oh well.

I received my hard copy NOAs on 11/1 and haven't gotten my bio appointment letter yet. It'll be a week tomorrow, so we'll see how that goes.

I did the same, just sent photocopies and everything seems ok! Also just waiting for my Biometrics letter and then I can enjoy the last few months of sitting home with my cat before I'm back in the real world haha. Good luck all! 🥳

Biometrics appointment letter takes at least 3 weeks, gives USCIS a month. A golden rule for dealing with immigration is to give them a month per each transaction.  For example, if you send a document due to a RFE, give USCIS a month. In that way, you wont be disappointed. If you get an answer earlier great; if not you know that it will take a while. USCIS is not a fast agencies and our cases are not the only ones they are handling.

Yeah, you’re right. Thank you. I have a lot of anxiety at the moment dealing with the fact that I’m almost certain that I’ll be hit with an RFE and I haven’t even gotten my biometrics done yet... So having to come to terms with my own mistakes and feeling stressed and scared. I don’t want to be denied and end up doing everything all over and wasting all this time and energy... :(

You may not get a RFE at all. Remember unless you see a letter or see an update on the website; it is not a RFE. Even if you get a RFE; it may slown down the process a bit, but you won't get denied. Do not panic. It will be alright.

It definitely seems like a silly thing to assume, I know, but today I caught onto a few things I overlooked while I was putting my packet together and it’s had me stressed. I try to tell myself que sera and just let things be but immigration is daunting. Thank you, though, I’ll try to be more positive.

What did you miss? It is a form, maybe little worried.  It is supporting documentation; do not worry about it. We all put application in a different way. Most important things are the forms, copy of the marriage certificate, the fee and some evidence of a genuine marriage. I could be missing something, but I would not worry about anything else.

Also the passport pictures.

I put the copy of the marriage certificate in, but only one for the AOS. After the comment I made not long ago in this same thread, I found that I really should have attached one to my EAD and one to my AP to explain the change in my name (since I used my married name in my applications). :( I hadn’t even thought about that, so that was my mistake. There are a few other things bugging me, but I appreciate your optimism! You seem like a very kind person.
