Hello just wanted to share an update we received, my husband received his EAD about 3 weeks ago and Friday we got an update on our application for adjustment of status I-485, it changed to case is ready for interview and we would receive notice with date and instructions. Not exactly sure how it will work since I believe offices are still closed but hopefully it happens soon !

You'll get another update when the interview actually gets scheduled and then you'll receive a letter with time and date. For now that update only means that the initial review is finished and your case gets send to your local office. Depending on the workload of your local office the pile on which your file ends up could be smaller or bigger

I got the same update, "case is ready to be scheduled for interview" in January. Then a few days ago, I got an update saying I'm getting an RFIE. Has anybody experienced this? And could it be because I sent a letter requesting a transfer of underlying basis? I'm thinking the latter.

Maybe it's one of those letters that a few others have received. Asking for more evidence of being happily married so that they can approve you without interview.

Fingers crossed. I pray it is, cuz you have no idea how long and tedious the whole process has been for me. Thanks for the reassurance.😘

Can you please share a link or a post from anyone who has received a letter like that from the USCIS? I'm aware that there are a very small number of people that have been approved without an AOS interview, but I haven't come across any cases that received a letter beforehand. Thanks.

That's great! Congratulations.

Your case is a little different than what we usually see on this K-1 AOS thread. Did you receive the letter (RFE) before or during the field office closure period?
