Does anyone know if someone received Green Card but EAD case was closed due "Benefits received by other means" if person will get Social Security number automatically?

My mother got her EAD and SSN, but my father received Green Card before EAD was approved and EAD case got closed.

Thanks!

We received our Green Card and had to go to SSN office to get our SSN after EAD/AP cases closed from GC.

My husband was approved for his EAD/AP on April 9. However, despite checking the box on his paperwork to receive a SSN, he has not. Since it’s been almost 2 weeks and his new employment is needing the SSN, I called the SS office today. They looked him up in the system and said that the USCIS did not transfer the information to them (which apparently isn’t all that uncommon). The man said that we would have to wait for the SS office to reopen in order to get a SS card, and there is no other way of doing it online or mail. Has anyone tried reaching out to USCIS to have them resend this info to the SS office? Not sure if they can do this, but it seems to be the only slight possibility we have of rectifying the situation in the near future..?? Or any other suggestions?

Thanks.

I waited 5 weeks for my SSN. Don’t worry, it’s coming. Just received it last week and it didn’t even show up on informed delivery.

After 189 days, my wife's EAD was finally approved today!! 😄

For those of you that already were approved, were the I-765 and I-131 approved around the same time (within a week) or weeks apart?

Congrats!!

yesterday morning, my EAD status was updated to "New Card is being produced" and AP was still "Finger prints has taken" and today, both EAD and AP status is updated to "Case was approved".

so i guess you'll be getting an AP approval notice anytime soon :)

Got a quick question, for those who responded to RFE. How long after RFE shows delivered on shipment tracking that USCIS updates their status to RFE received?

for my case, my RFE package was delivered at 01/14 and got a case update at 01/29 as "Response to USCIS request for evidence was received".

it's been 85 days and im still waiting :)

Hello just wanted to put my timeline and it can maybe help someone out of when maybe they will receive an update. Our situation might be just a slight different since my husband is already here in the us but under temporary protected status, country of Honduras. He has been here since he was 6 he is now 28, and we live in Arizona which is the Ninth Circuit, when you have temporary protected status there is no path to adjustment of status, but there are exceptions with some circuit courts when you are married to a us citizen. We applied back in October and we sent in I-765 and I-485, here is our timeline.

packet sent 09/27/19

They Received packet 10/02/19

Fingerprint Appointment 10/29/19

Received a Request of Initial Evidence 11/18/19 took us a while to respond since we had to have a family member in Honduras go to the consulate there and mail us what we needed and get it translated

They received our RIE on 02/03/2020

Received approval update for I-765 on 04/16/2020 same day update of card being produced

04/23/2020 today we received his EAD

so now we will just be waiting for I-485 AOS, our lawyer says with an approval for the I-765 EAD is a very good sign new because he says it’s pretty much approval of the case they just need an interview and then assign him a green card, with all this pandemic going on though I just pray they open soon and we can all get our interviews. I was reading that cases that already had an interview are getting waived and they are receiving their gc, hopefully they start doing that for the cases that were up next that still didn’t have an appointment.
