Just finished the interview. First they called my husband and I in. They asked for passports. Did my husband’s picture and fingerprints. Then asked my husband to leave. The woman asked me questions about my previous marriages. How my husband and I met. About his family. Our trips together. The dates we met. About our work. Our future plans. About my son. About my family. Many many questions. Then they called my husband back in. Asked him many similar questions to see if they matched. Thankfully they did. Then the woman said pending any security checks, she sending our case for approval.
Even though I was super nervous, I think everything went ok and we should receive our GC in 2 weeks. Good luck to everyone.

I posted this few days ago. About the documents, I brought the whole case including extra pictures. Joint bank statement. Joint car insurance. Letter from my mother stating our genuine relationship/we living together. But when she asked if I had anything extra. I just gave a few pictures. And she seemed fine with that.

Hello,

I just want to now if I can get SSN with green card or do I have to go to SSA to apply for SSN?

I will have an interview in March, I’m waiting for the letter about it now.

I don’t have SSN, so applied with EAD but green card will be issued after the interview, and EAD case will be closed.

Just give it some time first. When my interview was scheduled on January 6th, I also had no update on my EAD. But on Jan 30, I got a message that my combo card was approved and a week later, I got my NOA 2 then my card. I am not sure about the SS card though coz I applied for mine even prior to getting married. Hope this helps!

To piggyback off &Jco if you checked the social security box on your EAD application, it should take a few days to 1 or 2 weeks.

Thank you for your comment. So, your EAD  case wasn’t closed. One of my friends got GC and her case was closed, that’s why I wondered about SSN.

EAD case status hasn’t changed since fingerprint were taken in November. I should ask at SS office for it. Thank you for your comment though.

Mine was not closed because my interview is still on Feb 18th. Once your GC is approved, there is no need for an EAD. However, like what @crickets said, they may also provide you with your SSN. Maybe best to ask the IO during your interview for confirmation?

If this is the case, it means yours hasn't been approved yet. I heard the usual processing time is 5-6 months. Mine was just maybe luck that it got approved in 3 months.

We had our interview on 2/4 and couple days later, our I-765 and I-131 were closed. Makes sense because we will get our green card. As for the SSN, I asked the IO if we would receive it with our green card and she said they don’t have anything to do with SSN. So am not sure if I will receive or not, but in any case after we receive green card, we will go to SSN office and apply for one if we don’t get it with green card.

Same situation. Well, we will have to go to SS office after we get GC. I-485 and I-765 are processed in different office, so. You will know about that soon! Thank you.

Oh okay, I misunderstood the date of your interview. If my EAD was approved before GC, I would get SSN too, but as you said it seems 5-6months so worried.

March is not that far away and, who knows, maybe you will still get an update on your EAD this month.
