A question to the folk who have already received their EAD's...

How long did it take for you to receive your EAD card after your case switched to "card is being produced"? Also, if you asked to be given an SSN alongside of it, did that arrive at the same time or did that arrive later?

To anyone who answers this, thank you very much in advance ^_^!

After a week exactly, and I received the NOA2s for both i-765 and I-131 along with the EAD/AP combo card.  I also received the SSN card at the same time.

Hi everyone,

I am a bit concerned.  I have filed our aos back on october 1st, biometrics 10/23 and we still didn't receive our EAD.  I see here many people who have had their biometrics done after our date that have received their work authorizations.  Is there anyone who has a similar timeline as mine that still hasn't received their EAD?  I am a bit concerned at this point.

Thank you for your input.

you don’t have to be concerned. Per USCIS estimated waiting times it takes 5.5-7.5 months to receive your EAD. On their website it says they’re processing July cases. Yes, in reality it takes less time, but I’d be concerned only if their website was e.g. saying processing November cases. There’s no pattern to how they process EAD’s. I mean, I’m sure there is, but it’s a huge mystery to us :) . I follow both August and September AOS and many people are still waiting. But I feel you....it’s frustrating

Finally, it's all here...

10/08 - Case Filed

10/18 - NOA1 (mail 10/23)

01/02 - Biometrics

02/05 - EAD Card

02/07 - Social Security Card

For those still waiting, my case updates were:

EAD Only Timeline

10/08 - Case Filed

01/02 - Biometrics

01/30 - "Card is being produced"

01/31 - "I-765 Approval Notice Sent"

02/03 - NOA2 Recieved (4 days later)

02/05 - EAD Card Recieved (6 days later)

02/07 - SSC (2 days after EAD)

Looking at it now, I know I am very lucky. It just feels like forever when you're waiting..

Hope it helps someone guage were they might be at the moment & all your cases speed up before April 15!

Peace.

I'm really sorry to hear that...

In this process a lot of it has to do with luck too, just like @RachelBounty mentioned, there doesn't seem to be a pattern to how they approve/move along with things. I think that everyone who has had their EAD's approved should be very very thankful nonetheless.

Make sure that once your case has passed the "estimated" time to be approved for the EAD that you put in a service request, that will for sure get things moving and your EAD will get to you guaranteed.

Wow! That's amazing to hear! I'm surprised at how quick your interview switched to be scheduled in less than a day, congrats nonetheless ❤️

And "good news", the USCIS estimate for the National Benefits Centers' processed I-765 went down to 5-7 months, so I guess they're acknowledging that things are moving slightly faster.

Since these numbers are supposed to be 2 months old, we can compare them with VJ's processing average of cards approved in November which was 150 days (== 5 months) so USCIS' estimate seems to be in line with VJ's.

Thank you! It was literally less than two hours. I got up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom and checked my phone and saw the best notification. Then, I couldn't go back to sleep out of joy and I was playing with my phone and less than 2 hours later it changed again!
