Need some advice. I arrived in US June 10, 2019 and got married on June 17, I applied for an SS card on June 25 and was told me it takes 1-2 weeks to receive. Up til now i haven't received any card, Its almost been 4 months. so we're having hard time to get me on my husband beneficiary. we filed for AOS, EAD & AP August 19, 2019. but i know during the interview for AOS they will need a proof of marriage like joint bank account, joint tax return, etc. and its very hard to do anything without a SS card.. so has anyone experienced this ? and My husband and i thinking for applying  a TAX ID is that a good plan ? so that my husband can joint me on his bank account ,insurance, etc. OR I should go back to SSA to ask why i haven't received any card?

Check your status on https://save.uscis.gov/CaseCheck/CaseCheck.aspx. I used my passport number to search for my case. If you see anything like, "SAVE has returned your case to Maryland - Social Security Administration, SSA (Single Signon) (WS37).", you might want to call or visit the SSA office to follow up on your application.

If there's no result, someone might not have processed the SSN for you.

Hope this helps.

Hi! any update on what happened to your SSN or have you already received it? I also applied for my SSN on Sept 3, but I still haven't gotten it. I went to the SSA office last week and they told me to wait for another week and contact them if I still don't have it. Such a hassle but no choice.

@JCo i went to SSA oct. 2 and the lady officer told me that she can't give me a new card unless i apply for replacement but my i-94 expired already and i cant do it so i have to wait until my AED I-765/ AOS I-485. but i ask if they already mailed it and she said yes It was mailed july 9, 2019 But i haven't recieved in mail. So  my husband need to go to SSA last monday oct.7th because he have to update something about his lost card. So i tried  to talk to this officer about my case and if theirs a way he can give me my ss number so he told me to write down on a piece of paper his a nice officer but those other naa. You maybe need to keep going back to SSA and talk to different person so they can take action about your case its not about SSA office but its about a person you talk to. Some will be helpful and will have knowledge on the situation while others will not help because they are ignorant or maybe lazy. they say always different words . Dont wait until youre i94 expired.
