We have also done the same thing and wait for the interview date for me to travel there. Never did we imagine it would have taken this long. This week is 1 year that we haven’t seen each other. In person that is, thank god for video calls!  🙌🏼 Good luck and hopefully we get to see our loved ones soon! 🤞🏼

I called NVC and a rep told me it taking them 2 months to schedule interview after DQ, so im guessing I won’t see my other half till next year! 😔 And yes thank God for video calls but we have 3 years doing it and really desperate to be together vs doing video calls 😂

I petitioned for my parents and got DQ on Oct 16, today I received interview letter ( Islamabad embassy Pakistan)for my mother only and status changed to "IN Transit" and my father status still shows "At NVC". Is it normal to have two separate interview? Should I call NVC or embassy to ask for same day interview??

Thanks

I might not be able to answer your question but can I ask; when did you submit the documents and what is the int date?

Not sure if this had been asked before but does the nvc email your case number automatically given the information from your I-130 or do you have to call and update that information so that when they generate your case number you can be emailed instead of waiting on regular post?

Have you found the that having that insurance is cost effective?  I just would hate to spend money on an insurance plan that is not comparable to my existing medical coverage.  This is definitely something that has not been properly thought out.  Not to leave out that if this is going to be a requirement Health Insurance Companies need to start looking at Outside Normal Enrollment Schedules for immigrants.

at what part is it asking about health insurance? I just uploaded all docs to NVC and I didnt see that question come up but I keep hearing about this.

I was told that they will sent you an email as soon as they assign a case number and you will receive paper mail confirmation the following week. They should have the email address of the petitioner and beneficiary email address from the I-130 form. Hope this helps

Yes, the petitioner and beneficiary receive an email with the case number automatically, you dont have to call. They use the emails you put on the forms i130/i130a. But we didnt receive a letter through regular mail, just the email.

The final decision on that has been postponed, that’s why there’s no questions on it and why what was supposed to be the new I864 was taken down off USCIS

Our CR1 Journey:

USCIS Stage:

  • Feb 14 2019: NOA1 (NSC)
  • July 31 2019: I129f NOA1
  • Sep 19 2019: I129f NOA2 (Denied - 50 days from NOA1)
  • Sep 19 2019: I130 NOA2 (Approved - 217 days from NOA1)

NVC Stage:

  • Sep 27 2019: Sent to Department of State
  • Oct 31 2019: Case number received (34 days since sent)
  • Nov 1 2019: IV & AOS fees received & paid
  • Nov 14 2019: IV & AOS submitted
  • Dec 18 2019: All docs accepted, but one additional doc requested (5 weeks from submission)
  • Dec 18 2019: Requested doc submitted
  • Feb 19 2020: Documentarily Qualified (9 weeks from 2nd submission, 14 weeks from first submission)

Interview Stage:

  • Mar 11 2020: Interview letter received
  • Apr 1 2020: Interview date
  • Mar 17 2020: Interview cancelled due to COVID-19
  • August 3 2020: Rescheduled letter received, new appointment August 25 2020
  • August 25 2020: Visa approved at interview! (558 days from NOA1)
  • September 10 2020: Embassy received passport in mail
  • September 15 2020: Passport with visa in hand

October 11 2020: Arrived in US!

They do not require it now, but you will be required to prove that you will have the insurance after the November date.  I believe you will have to prove this to the person you speak with at the interview.  It was posted in an earlier thread this week (try page 52-55 of this thread).  I am not sure of the complete process we know the change is coming.

I was under the impression this would only apply to anyone that had applied through NVC after November 3rd (when it becomes final) regardless of when your interview date is ???

Omg all this is so confusing. I’ve seen people talking about getting their spouses health insurance now when they are not even here yet. Sorry, I am not wasting money on something that can’t humanly be utilized. 🤯
