Hello everyone, so I’ve noticed on their website USCIS has included the new I-864 forms you must complete after October 15th. https://www.uscis.gov/i-864

I had a glance at the new edition and nothing really seems to be different, so what’s all the panic about? Is there anything I’m missing or any other forms I’ll have to complete after the 15th comes around? Thanks!

Just that using the older form would cause your case to be dragged on for a longer time and I assume resubmitting documents can take longer to be approved

Service Center: Texas Service Center SRC

Consulate: Juarez, Mexico

I-130 NOA1: 2019/03/21

I-130 NOA2: 2019/09/17

NVC DQ: 2020/01/21

Visa Approved: 2021/07/01

Okay, so I’m assuming other than having to use the new form after the 15th this doesn’t really change anything for me. Seems a lot of the rule changes they made are geared at people who are doing adjustment of status, which I’m not. Big relief!

Can you ask your spouse to fill it out for you instead.

That's still an option.
