Good day all, congrats to those moving forward with their cases. I am looking for advice as I received my NOA2 on July 31 and to date NVC has not received the case.

After being instructed to email nvcresearch and how we must wait 6-8 weeks by NVC they put us back to USCIS (CSC). Every time we called them the time frame changed from 30 to 60 and now they are adamant it's 90 days and now my wife and I have no idea what's going on or what to do.

After Oct. 14.. are they really going to change that poverty line.. 250%

It's ridiculous if they do.. 😠 250% is Alot

It said we have to use new forms from that date..

Trump is really causing so much harm to immigration.

I don't see an increase of 250%.

Here's the information about the poverty line based on the amount of people in the family: https://www.uscis.gov/i-864p

There's misinformation and that's not exactly what it says, and when you read misinformation you form opinions incorrectly based on that misinformation.

We've just joined the NVC group now as we received the approval for our I-130 on September 17.

And then last night (September 30) we received an email stating that our case has been sent to the DoS for processing.

The information from the NVC Process link has been really helpful:

I look forward to the day this waiting period is over. 🙂

You gotta take into consideration that there's a lot of websites that have fear mongering interpretations of whatever rules USCIS/DHS is enacting. So if they don't provide sources that end up on a DHS website uscis.gov state.gov or dhs.gov likely it's fear mongering.

Most of these fear mongering articles, or videos on youtube are created by lawyers to gain more clients.

It reminds me when USCIS announced that they were closing all USCIS offices internationally. People in the Philippines was spreading (I am sure others as well) that the US embassy was closing and immigration to the united states was over, that they needed to act fast.

Welcome to another monthly thread for those going through NVC

Please read everything below and refer to it throughout your NVC journey, whether this is your first month at NVC or your third. :bonk:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Before posting questions, please read the wiki Saylin wrote on the NVC process here. Once you're done, read it one or two more times to really understand it ;)Don't forget to also read the official form instructions as well as USCIS and NVC's websites!
If you want to see a visual of the NVC process, please view Saylin's flowchart here.
Yes this thread was created by our great Queen Saylin and the knowledge is still going forward. This thread I pray stays alive and well as many who have gone through the process or still going can chime in and help and assist.
If you're wondering about time frames, look at the fellow members right here in this thread! Study their signatures/timelines and make notes. VJ also has this awesome page. Use it! I sure did during my process smile.png That means if you are on this thread WE expect you to have an up to date timeline.
Current case file creation time:
This is the link to go to see what date they are working on. Follow  it says up to 6 weeks but recently that 6 weeks is about 4 weeks from approval at USCIS.
Once your case has been created, we will contact you with instructions on how to begin processing. Until your case is entered into our system, we unfortunately won’t have any information about your case.
Current case review time:
This is the link to see what date they are reviewing. Please allow up to three-weeks for NVC to review your forms and documents once we receive both the petitioner’s financial documents and the applicant’s civil documents. You must also have paid all required fees and submitted your visa application online. We will not review your file until we have received all of the above items
And once you've got a case complete, please join the case complete/interview thread started by me, Dwheels76 on (currently November 2019 thread),
Hi! I have a question. A while back I saw a post that had great information and pictures of how someone had put together their packets for the embassy interview. I have gone mad looking for that post and can’t find it. Do you know what I’m talking about? Thank you so much for your help.
Totally agree!
And their words really work... One old lady sent me an email saying this time immigration is so difficult.  I was like what the hell.. what should I do then.
We just have to continue our process.
They want to push fear to the public.  And a lot believe, I did..
Lawyers want more clients. True
Hi, I have a related question.  My spouse ( wife) is filing I-864 for me. When calculating household size,
Part 5, 1  Our answer is 1
Part 5, 2  Our answer is 1
Part 5, 3 - Are you currently married ? Our answer should be 0 or 1?
I think writing 0  or leaving it blank is a wrong answer but if we write 1 the household size would be 3. Can somebody please explain this?
Another question- I am dual citizen-  Part 2 ,3 - Nationality or Citizenship ? What should I answer.
Me and my wife are having a joint sponsor-- She just started her new job and she was a student and never had job before and never filed taxes. Now with her i-864 can she still attach her job letter and pay stub? And is there any explanation for not filing taxes that we can attach.
I'm in the same situation as you except I'm the petitioner. I've been a student until this September so I have not filed taxes. I have not submitted the material yet but what I'm considering is submitting my job letter, pay stubs as well as school enrollment certificates for the last three years to explain why I did not file taxes.
For the household size, you put 0 for Part 5,3 since it says "persons NOT sponsored in this affidavit."
I don't know about the dual-citizenship part - sorry!
Hope this helps!
Thankyou so much. It makes sense. Are you have a joint sponsor ? We are thinking to have a joint sponsor.
