What is the best way to scan the passport photos? Front and back (the back is blank on mine w/ only a watermark but I think I read somewhere to scan the back too?) and side by side or one on top of the other? Also do we only scan one, or both copies?

Also which photo is the one that ends up on the card? The ones brought to the interview right? Because I always look terrible in passport photos but I'll try my best for the one that I have to carry with me every day 😂

I only scanned one and the front only, but it was digital, the person that took the passport style photo sent it to my email and it was already in the right size then I just uploaded to ceac.

Hi everyone!

The CEAC system has now opened up for us, and I have completed the IV Immigrant Application. It was very long, and the website shut down several times, in the longest section too, mind you haha! But I was finally able to submit it last night. Now I have begun uploading the IV civil documents, and I noticed that there is a section for "optional documents". Does anyone know what to add there? Is it necessary or helpful in any way to add anything beyond the requirements? Maybe "couple photographs" from trips, events, family gatherings etc.? I don't know.

I just needed to add police certificate, marriage certificate, birth certificate, photocopy of passport bio data page and passport photo. However, I believe that I would need to submit my spouse's divorce papers from her previous marriage too, possibly under "optional documents"? Any advice?

Confused :(

you have to check which documents are required as an optional documents for your country

Yes, the visa application is very long. It took me 8 (eight) hours to do, on three different computers in two different places.

As to the Optional docs section, in our case it contained more docs than the main with required ones😀. It’s due to my husband’s and mine complicated pasts, 😆 For example I changed my name three times, and should add proof why.

Yes, all marriages and how they ended on both sides, definitely.

Thank you!

And I remember seeing posts here in the forum about IV cover letters with bar codes and stuff? I do not see how this applies to us in CEAC. Do you have any idea about this?

You're using ceac don't need a cover letter. Cover letters are for emailing and mailing of documents.

What is it that people here advise to write on the top right corner of each document page before uploading? Case number? Anything else?

also, I can’t add those things in the digital document coz they are PDFs. So I hand write on the top right corner?
