I assume once NVC have scheduled your interview date and informed you of it, they will ensure it’s sent and received by the consulate prior to that date..

Your assumption is correct, but I already knew that :) What I'm asking is if there's way to track progress of your file from NVC to consulate once your file is accepted at NVC. Thanks

Just got off the phone with the NVC since we were expecting our case number sometime this week and didn't get it. I originally spoke to someone on September 19th that confirmed that our case was received on September 13th, however the woman we spoke to today couldn't find any record of our case being received by the NVC and told us to contact NVCResearch. Has this happened to anyone else?

I am not a lawyer and nothing I say is or should be taken as legal advice.

Don't expect everyone at that office to be aware of each and every file that comes in.

The first woman you spoke to answered correctly because she's the one who's working on it.

Unfortunately, you didn't get her this time.

Until, they enter your information into their system and assign you a case number, you are not going to get much help as yet.

It normally takes a month to do that from date of reception.

You'll receive the email next week every other thing being equal.

Question in the affidavit of support :

my income is not enough to be a sponsor and my brother will do form I-864 for me as a joint sponsor, do i still need to submit form i-864 for me ?? Or only the one that my brother will fill as a joint sponsor is enough ??

if i will need to submit one as the petitioner, is it ok to put a low income that will not meet the requirements ??

if someone can explain clearly because iam really confused about this, Thanks

Omg the CEAC system is down, currently under maintenance :( We have been trying to upload our documents since yesterday, and now we are afraid the system will mess with us, so that we will not be able to upload our packages before October 15 :(

It’s not down yet. Will be down from 9 am - 5 pm Washington DC time on 12th October 2019. It’s currently 2:42 am there on 12th October, so you still have around 6 hours before the maintenance work begins.

Also, just read this on the I-864 webpage.

they’ve removed the new version of the form from the page as well, until further notice I believe. So for now you’re good as the Oct 15 deadline is not hanging over your (and my) head.

Those worried about the 15th Oct changes, please go through this thread. Apparently, the new public charge rule still goes into effect on Oct 15th for ones going through consular processing. Apologies for the false hopes I gave anyone above.
