Hi everybody,

My husband's interview was scheduled last week, and the same day we found out about his interview we scheduled his medical exam (as instructed). The earliest exam they could get him was today.

The medical doctor says they need 10 business days to process his medical exam for the consulate. However, the interview letter didn't allot us much time, so his interview is already next week (7 business days from today). From my understanding, if the medical documentation is not in order/processed/complete by the time of the interview, we're put into administrative processing because the immigrant file/interview files are incomplete.

Is this correct? Does anyone have any experience with this or any advice on what to do?

We did our K1 medical in April 2018 (India) about four days in advance...which is not recommended. They were great and prioritized people's packets based on interview date and then had us return the next day by 3pm for pickup. I wouldn't stress about it one bit and just tell them your interview was scheduled quickly.

They will probably let you pickup next day or at worst a few days later. Have a great interview!!

Did medicals this morning.

Takes between 2 to 3 weeks before results so had to go ahead and do it early to avoid any last minute frustrations.

Clock's ticking, blood's rushing...haha!

Let's do this!!

Had the interview today and the visa got approved! 🎉 They told me it will take between 4 to 8 work days for it to arrive. Those are the questions that were asked:

  • How did you meet your spouse?
  • How did you decide to get married?
  • How long after the engagement did you get married?
  • Were you ever married before?
  • Was your spouse ever married before?
  • Where do you intend to live in the US?
  • How was it when you first separated? (in the sense of when I first flew back to Belgium after spending time with her)

Only civil and financial documents were asked. They didn't ask for any evidence (shame... it was all so nicely prepared).

You made it through.

Moments like this remind you of the fact that it was all worth the wait.

It's your time to shine.

Congratulations to you both!

Thank you so much! Soon it is your turn and I am sure you'll get through it as well. Just a little bit longer.

Went smoothly.

First thing they did was take vital signs.

Then your weight and height established.

Samples taken were urine and blood.

Required vaccines then administered.

After that, you undress (down to your underwear) and a physical exam is done.

Last part was the x-ray and I was good to go.
