Hmmmm. I haven't found that to be true. After all, my access to my ex-husband's Netflix account has been terminated! Now I have to pay for it. :( :P

Seriously, who believes that myth anymore?

you need to watch some divorces....

As a feminist, I support a woman choosing the life path that she believes is best for her. If she has a partner, she should take his or her point of view into consideration as well.

Apologies, not sure how the quote got losted.

Yes, the feminist part.  Which matters not one iota.  I would think being a feminist would be all about supporting her fellow women in their endeavors, whatever they happened to be.

I'm a masculinist,  and I support all the men on here in the pursuit of their happiness.  I also support my spouse wearing heels in the kitchen while she cooks for me.  But I dont feel the need to go around using the masculinist label in my posts.

Nothing wrong with a woman wanting to become a homemaker, that is what I do for now. Of course she is taking it to the extreme, but if it makes her happy, then so be it. Let us hope her husband spoils her as a reward for her loving efforts.

Yes, it does! I just mentioned that I'm a feminist because I think it's important to dispel the myth that feminists aren't supportive of women taking on "traditionally" feminine roles. That's all, and guess that's the iota that I think that matters. But we are (I believe) on the same page. :)

Well, Alex would disagree with you on that one, because he prefers me barefoot (don't let a woman have shoes, or she'll run away). :P No, kidding. He's just happy to have me cook for him, but he is trying these days.

Break a heel while carrying a pot of hot soup? Won't end well.

Well, in 10 years, that has never happened.  If it did, she would just carry on on tip toe.  She’s quite adept at handling the high heel accessory.

Cooking in high heels would probably trigger my inner safety guy. No meal is worth a trip to the ER.

Actually barefoot is probably not the best idea either.

Generally I wear a pair of Chuck Taylors when I cook -- I want something I can throw in the washing machine when I get the eventual spatter on them. Slippers aren't great, because they tend to be too warm for me. In general, I actually prefer being barefoot and I HATE socks. I will wear them when needed but yuck.

Once you're used to walking in heels, it's not really so hard to handle them in a variety of situations. :) I used to wear them in the UK walking on cobblestones and I even got the hang of it under those conditions! (I did have a colossal wipeout in Covent Garden one night when I was wearing stilettos and I was just a little worse for wear after being at a very boozy dinner... lesson learned.)

My electrician used to tell me he never shut off the power before working on electrical repairs because he was used to it. Then one day  ZZZZZAP.

Which is why I wear Chucks! :)

I do wear heels to work, which is a bit silly, I think, because I do stand up a lot. I know that in about 10 or 15 years I will hate myself for insisting on doing this. My mom has warned me. But I'm not wearing 4" heels or anything, I couldn't handle it unless there was a big platform or something. I have been told on here that wedges do not count as heels but if they are very high, they are ABSOLUTELY heels and I will fight anyone who disagrees! :P

Well OK, I went back and gave you a like so you know that I approve. Chucks are slightly better than bare feet (for kitchen safety).

If they are only slightly better than bare feet, what is Steeleballz-approved footwear for the modern housewife?
